the cashier was really mean to her and practically yelled at her to "save it for church". (My niece is three, btw.) So when my niece bursts out in tears every one looks at me like I am the one who made her cry... What ever happened to courtesy?

Courtesy exists. Obviously not in this case. The ones who looked at you as though you were the one at fault were just as "guilty" as the cashier.

Your poor neice! That's awful! That cashier was beyond rude. There is absolutely no excuse for an adult to yell at a small child and make her cry for singing a song she probably learned in Sunday School. I mean, it's not like your neice was handing out Bible tracks and yelling, "Turn or Burn!" for goodness sakes! I would have taken my crying neice straight to the manager to report that cashier's rude behavior. If she has no qualms in yelling at a three year old, chances are she's been rude to others in the past and deserves to be reported.

That's really sad. I hope that you expressed something to the clerk or the manager. There is no excuse for rudeness and little children are just being little children! Wow! I hope that you gave her a hug and told her "yes, Jesus loves you, keep on singing, sweetie"

I think it's wonderful that she sings things like this. Sing with her!

BTW...Last Sunday after church, I was asking my son what they had done and he said he'd been a lion, and then informed me that he hadn't been a friendly lion, but a hungry lion...I finally figured out he'd been reenacting the story of Daniel in the lions' den. I asked him to tell me the story and he said that "the bad guys didn't like Daniel so they threw him on a pile of lions".

Little children are a miracle and a gift from God. Don't let a crabapple ruin her for you.

That was very rude. That cashier has a problem, not you and definitely not your precious niece. I have a suggestion for you, pray for that cashier- I know that may sound like a typical "Christian" answer- but I really am serious- she needs to know that Jesus loves her too.

You should have reported the cashier right there and then to the manager. I would have at least demanded an apology.

Why is it so wrong to sing about Jesus in public? Why is it so wrong to pray in public? BUT, Why is it okay to curse in public? Why is it okay to curse in front of children?

This world has gone mad! But chaos rules without GOD.

I am sorry this happened to your niece.

Take care and God Bless!
