A celibate gay couple live together, sleep in the same bed, raise a child, and grow old together. They have never had any sexual contact whatsoever, only homosexual attraction. What is their fate?

Richie, why was it necessary to include "raise a child". Do you infer that if they had sexual intercourse something would be wrong as far as raising a child is concerned?

I'm no Christian or homosexual. But taking the logic of your question to respond; their fate would be like any other person. Given that Christianity rely almost solely on NT, I can't seem to find a scripture that says that homosexuality is a sin. I think Christians are just full of themselves by wanting to claim that relationship as a sin.

I'll try to answer this...

I'm a Christian, and I believe that homosexuality is a sin.

Now, before you jump down my throat, let me explain a bit.

Homosexuality is not only a sin because of physical actions, but also because of a certain mindset.

It's comparable to heterosexual lust. From a Christian perspective, looking at a woman lustfully is a sin, just as "actual" physical adultery is. Thus, homosexuality follows that standard.

Let me continue to explain, since I am probably still misunderstood:

I personally believe that people may be born with the propensity to become homosexuals. Some say that this removes their "responsibility" and that it is "unfair", as a result, to call their actions sinful.

But let's go back to the concept of sin in general. Humans are born with sinful propensities... the beginnings of the desire to steal, kill, lust, etc. are present at birth.

Does this remove these people's "responsibility"? Is it "unfair" of God to hold us responsible for our sin? No. But we can be forgiven, both the homosexual and the heterosexual, through faith in Christ.

In essence, this is what I was trying to say in the text above: Homosexuality is a sin, but it isn't like non-homosexuals can point the finger at homosexuals, or at anyone else for that matter. We have all sinned, and none of us can boast of our righteousness, because we don't have any apart from what God gives us.

To answer your question with these principles in mind, I would say that only God knows this couple's ultimate fate. It is not for me to decide; I cannot even control my own destiny.

But if you are simply asking whether this couple is "good" merely because they don't have any sexual contact, I would say no.

Good works cannot save us, whether we are heterosexual or homosexual. Only Christ can save us.

And in God's eyes, any sin (including "homosexual attraction") is enough to disqualify us from heaven. That's why we all need to be forgiven through grace.

The sin is what sends them to hell. Someone has said love is love, perverted love is not love at all it is just perverted. According to the bible and God they indeed will go to hell as all sinners go to hell. They have no redeemer. More over if they were saved they would turn from the lust of the sin in there hearts and seek to live Holy before a Holy God. As they neither denounce sin and actually promote it there hearts show the curse of there existance. You can look Holy on the outside and go straight to hell. God judges the heart, he cuts thru all the bull and gets to the heart of the matter. And they also are perverting this childs mind, so indeed they have sin an great sin. Hell is the fate of all sinners.

It depends what your vested interests are. If you have to make sure that your flock believes that they will be doomed you will make sure people believe they are doomed. If you lead a more enlightened lot you may not be as critical of their lifestyle. Without any external pressure, their fate would probably be that they grow old together and that they have raised a child who will eventually have to face life and make his/her own decisions.
