I am a teacher and this year I will be teaching sex ed to a group of 14 year olds.
I know they are going to ask a lot of questions about when they should lose their virginity and what "first times" are like and I would like to be able to give them a well-rounded and informative answer, based on both the male and female perspective.
If there is anyone out there who would like to share their story and experiences for this cause I would love to hear about it.
Knowing kids they'll want details, but please only give those you are comfortable sharing.
Thanks!

The class is not strictly about this subject, it is one of many - but I have taught for 6 years and I know how kids minds work. All we have been told is to be completely frank and honest with them - which is my aim as their teacher and through this class their confidant.

Being a mom of three grown children, I can safely say I have heard the best advice and worst advice already!
Once when I was driving 10 freshmen and sophomore high school boys to a water skiing camp in another state, one of them said to me, "do you think all guys are just walking Penises? The reason I'm asking is because that woman they sent to teach us sex ed says that all guys over 12 years old are, including her husband. Then she grossed me out by talking about her husband (he was like 350 pounds!)"
I told him the same thing I told all my kids, "picture you body as a sports car...your favorite color, make and model. Brand new. Your sex life is brand new when you are young....But just like your brand new sports car, you will want to keep it in immaculate condition. Keep it clean, well kept, and spotless. And owning a brand new sports car doesn't mean you have to offer everyone in town a ride in it either! Your car will immediately lose its value, and depreciate with all the wear and tear on its body. You should respect your body just the way you would respect a brand new car. And you should expect everyone else you meet to respect your car as well....and one more thing, if you choose to share your sports car with everyone, realize that eventually the one you may want to co-own your sports car with may not be willing to share with all the others that have previously test driven it.
MY SECOND THOUGHT:
Take a doughnut to school and offer everyone in the room a bite..then tell them:
"Your body and your views about sex are quite similar to owning the only doughnut in the office. If you pass the doughnut all around the room, eventually there will be nothing left for you at all. You may not even like what's left of you yourself, and if that's the case, there's a great likelihood that others won't want what's left of you either."

Tell them that no one ever regrets waiting, but a lot of people regret that they didn't wait. Tell them that a girl can get pregnant the first time, it's a myth that they can't. Tell them not to believe anyone who says, "We don't need to use condoms, I've never been with anyone else." Tell them to use a condom every single time until they're married. Tell them that they have to use a condom the right way, which means using it for all of intercourse, not just the ending. Tell them to put it on the right way, which means checking that it's right side out on their thumb first before they put it on, not putting it on and realizing it's wrong and reversing it. Explain that pre-ejaculate has sperm and can get a girl pregnant. Tell the girls to get the HPV vaccine so they don't end up with cervical cancer. Tell them that anyone who uses the rhythm method to avoid pregnancy is called a parent. Tell them that there's a lot of pressure on the first time, so have sex a second time before they make up their mind about what it's like. Tell them that actions have consequences.
Oh, and where it is, exactly, that you teach that they allow teachers to talk about all this?

As a 17 year old female, I just lost my virginity this year and I do not regret it. I have had 3 previous boyfriends before this one and I think I made the right choice.
i key to losing it is being comfortable with your partener and talking about sex aolt. My boyfriend and I talked about it for a month before we actually did.
And i know this is going to sounds silly, but always always use condoms or birth control. I can not stress that enough. If you dont you will be worried sick about being pregnant, so dont make that mistake.

that's a mushy concern for me. I in no way even had an probability to lose it till i grew to become into 21, and finally did at 22. It wasn't lots that i had to, yet I resent that I in no way had a call approximately it. surprisingly considering that human beings in my age group (those that grew up interior the '80s) supposedly grew up in a decadent era.

sex education shouldn't be about losing your virginity. Instead try informing them what can happen if they make poor choices. Show them how their life would change if they contracted an std, or got pregnant. Educate them about the consequences of wreckless sex. Are you sure you should be teaching this class?????

Much to my friends' chagrin, I'm still a virgin. =] I'm waiting until marriage simply because I can't give up something that important to a person who might dump me the next week. Good luck!
