I have never thought of obedience to God's Word a work. A work is like feeding the poor, evangelizing, doing good to others. This is like doing our job for God. But also obedience is praying and getting close to God in reading His Word, meditating on it and also worshiping Him. To me , none of it is work, but a life style.

I do not know how well do you understand the word. When you say you love someone, do you think it is enough to just to say it to make it believable or you have to work things out to prove it?
You want to obey God's word, how do you do it? How do you show your obedience? Is it not by doing something to make it work and show from working it your obedience. Love and obedience are not lip services. They are work which means each day you work, you make your activities with God's Word in mind so you don't fall into tempting yourself from doing wicked things to gain access to the wealth and comfort in life. It is not only in some circles of Christianity but a must in in God believing circles.

If you mean why don't we keep the Law, we are saved by grace through faith. I think it's okay to be as strict in your practice as you like -- wearing a head covering, worshipping on Saturday, not wearing clothing of mixed material, whatever. But we need to realize that this does not save us. And it has to be done with the right attitude, in humility.
EDIT:
I don't know why just obeying God's word is considered a work. If you are sincere and humble, I think most people will accept your practice when they get to know you.

the tale of Adam and Eve and The Sepent, is about God's Sovereignty. As our author, he's popular with what's ideal for us, the obedience we provide, makes our lives extra perfect. The Serpent confident our first dad and mom that no matter if God develop into the author, he did not comprehend what develop into ideal, problematic his Sovereignty. you may analyze it to site visitors regulations. those regulations are there for the protection of all. In original text, obedeience and love are both used as active verbs.
So loving one another is active, we must think and push down our natural urge to dislike many people and replace that urge with an active form of Love, even if it is just to pray for patience and the ability not to speak poorly of the person.
Obeying Gods word is impossible and God tells us point blank that we will never attain that goal while living in our fleshly bodies. We must actively work at supressing our fleshly thoughts and desires and to do what God would have us do.
Thinking before acting is a work that more of us should practice doing on a consistant basis.
None of these things comes naturally to our fleshly bodies, we must work to bring them to the forefront of how we live and what we say.

Works are fine, it's just when we think that we can use those works to merit Heaven on our own, or control God, that we run into trouble. "Accepting Jesus" is one of those issues. Do we honestly think that we can tell God what to do in our lives? When the Holy Spirit changes a heart, He doesn't have to ask our permission. When we are saved, it comes by grace through faith, and that not of our selves. It is a gift of God. Gift, not something we have to sign for.

Because most Christians do not want to be burden with doing such things as learning how to preach and teach, as Christ instructed that all his followers to do. Believing they only need faith without works makes life a lot easier.

James 2:17 says that faith without works is dead. Some religions (including mine) take that very literally.

It's not considered a work, but a commitment...like marriage, yeah, some people might consider it work, but really it's a commitment...
