This is a one sentence passage in the begining of the book of Genesis. Wouldn't some type of intelegent being have to have been around to witness this and pass the tale down to its desendants?

The book of Genesis is the record of the beginning of the Earth. Not the record of creation of what we refer to as angels. Read the opening scripture in Genesis again. The record of God himself nor of the created angels or how they live - non of that is mentioned.

God visited Enoch, the 7th from Adam and shown him the mysteries of heaven and earth - even showing him the planets were orbs and had orbital pathways. This is something the Roman Catholic Church did not bide with and would not canonize the Book of Enoch into the Holy Bible.

However the history of earth's beginnings were passed on down to Noah, and on to Moses who wrote (or rewrote the lost books of Enoch) and continued onward with history and diary as God's spirit moved him to do.

You should read the Book of Enoch. Its quoted from twice in the New Testament and that in itself should signal that the book of Enoch belongs. Enoch is recorded in the canonized Bible as having walked with God - then God took him. The man did not die.

What do you think the Bible is referring to? Animals or people?
I saw a show that demonstrated how the femur bones of fossilized mammoths look exactly like a human's and the thought in both Greek mythology and the Biblical acct of giants was based on a misunderstanding of the skeletons found.

Not if god was giving the ideas to some later author.

According to your logic, someone had to be around to watch the first 5 days of creation for it to be in the bible.

Of course it's all fairy tales anyway.
