as far as religion?

Is the US not a free country?

no, in this case it is not because the parents are incompetant, but because the judge was impartial. Obviously the judge has a grudge against some denominations of Christianity or he would not have taken the children out of their home and placed them into a foster care center. His stated reason was that he was concerned that the parents took their religious vocation too seriously.

the parents are christian
the parents have never committed a crime
the parents have never committed child abuse
the parents love these children more than their own lives.
the parents would not knowingly place these kids in danger
the parents just happen to attend an Apostolic Pentecostal Church
the grandparents do not
the grandparents filed charges of child abuse.
No evidence was found...
Children taken from their parents because the judge thought it best since the parents were too devoted to their religion.

It is not a matter of what they believe but a matter of interpretation of the Law or in this instance misinterpretation of law and untill the majority of silent christians band together and speak with one voice against the highly vocal minority groups and religions such as the ACLU, athiests, agnostics, pagens, wiccans and the Godless Liberals, this country will continue to on a downward spiral until christianity is illegal and worshiping is illegal and God ALLOWS the same thing to happen to the USA as he did the Israelites in 70 ad for their faithlessness and for turning their backs on God and becoming approving of all immorality. but to the cruxt of your question -- belief has nothing to do with it, just modern misinterpretation of ambiguous wording in the constitution and blantent neglect of context. The US is a free country with certain parameters. in order not to offend religions, other than Christianity, evilutionist, epicurian mindsets, agnostics, hedonists, adulterers, idol worshipers, practicianers of magic, etc, etc, etc -- prayer was taken out of schools and in the workplace openly (but uhmm not in congress) so as not to offend anyone, placate many and enourage others to piece by piece dismantle the moral fiber which this country was built on.. -- does that answer your question? no? well then how about this, the grandparents and the judge are not spiritual people and do not have spiritual eyes, they are dead spiritually they cannot understand spiritual matters, so they cannot understand people who have salvation and God in their lives nor do they care to.
there is an element out there that since the mid 80s has pushed the mindset that children should not be forced to go to church as it is brainwashing and that when they are adults then they can make up theeir own minds - can u see the moral breakdown that has been developing? can you see the lack of core values in this philosophy and if not then start with columbine and look at the youth from then to now and see the constant deterioration.

What exactly are you referring to? Without knowing more about what your talking about it's hard to comment

Added comment: I still think your leaving something out and reading what you want to read into it. The judge would probably have thought that you were putting the kids into harms way somehow, but your not stating that on here, the child's grandparents filed child abuse charges, but on what grounds? What's the real story here? The judge would not have done this because of your religion but because there was something that would have lead to the child being hurt or in danger if they were hurt. If not, then it would be very easy to appeal and win.

You need to be more specific. If the government is making a decision for the parents, it's almost always because the parents are incompetent in some way and are harming the child.

Of course they know better than dumb parents that's why we have a juvenile Judaical system. You should stay out of trouble with the law if you want your mommy to say what is good for you.
