Hinduism-Where to get literature?

Question

I am interested in learning more about Hinduism. What are is the main book or books Hindus use ? And can you get one anywhere that is translated to English ?
I just know of the Vedas but dont know how to get more info on actually reading the book. Anyone ??

I want to buy literature not read it online. I want to know if there are any versions In English???

It is the essence of all the vedic literature. If all the vedic litereatures ( four vedas, 17 puransa, vedanta, 108 principal upanishads etc...) are compared to a desire tree, then the Srimad Bhagavatam is compared to a ripened fruit in that tree.

1. Hindu scriptures are basically written in Sanskrit language and translations and their explanations are available in varieties because a single scripture is translated and explained by many intellectuals/mystics. So, it is better , get a copy of one writer and read it and if not satisfied by it , get the copy of another writer.
