The reason Christians (again, if you are one that doesn't, bless you, you are cool because you probably already know this) argue that being gay is a sin, is because they feel it is a choice, something people have power over.
You have to realize that by saying that you are making huge judgement, which is not your place according to Jesus. There is good evidence that gay people are born that way. Just as you would not judge a schizophrenic person's actions you should not judge a gay person. I am not saying (as was previously believed by the AMA to be so, then shown to be false) that being gay is a mental disorder, but it is something they can't help. Not if they are to be true to themselves. So it isn't a choice.
Therefor, if there is any doubt it isn't a choice, for you to say it is a choice is being very judgemental. Why don't you leave that up to God? It is certainly not anyones place to tell another how they may live. Doesn't Christianity say we will all answer to God someday?

Please no cut and paste scripture. All scripture referencing homosexuality as a whole are very hotly debated, even within the different churches. Plus I want to hear your own thoughts.

Seems like people misunderstand the definition of the word 'judgment'. It means to make a decision without knowing the circumstances. Such as assuming a person is gay by never hearing from that person's mouth that they are gay or seeing that person perform gay actions. If a person admits to being gay or if that person is seen performing gay actions, then it is not judging. If God says that homosexuality is wrong then it is. There is nothing we can do to change his decision. I'm sure a lot of us would not have made homosexuality a sin if it was up to us but unfortunately, it is not up to us. When we are saved all things become new. From our sexuality choices, music choices, television choices, etc. We may want to do the same things we used to do, but we choose not to act on it because we have the power of God that gives us the strength to not participate in certain sinful actions.

As Christians we are not here to condemn people. What we speak is only what the Word of God says. As for being gay, it becomes a sin if you know the truth and you continue in it. The bible says is Romans 6:23 "...the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life". You will have to read Romans 1:26-27, it say, "For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men leaving the natural use of the woman burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and recieving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due". I thank God I have had the opportunity to work with people in the homomsexual lifestyle. And from the many different stories I have heard there is nothing which points to it being genetic. For example, I use to work with a guy who was a homosexual at my job. He said when he was 11, civil war broke out in his native country of El Salvador. He said ten soldiers chased him into a building and then proceeded to raped him. He said after that experienced his life was shattered and he could not find the grips to live a straight life again. There's nothing genetic about that. I have many more testimonies from homosexuals which does not point to it being genetic. I do not judge them, but I have love and compassion them just like I would for anybody else, since I have worked closely with them. However, the Lord Jesus said, "I do not judge any many, however there is a judge for him that does not hear my word. And that word will judge him on the last day".

I am a catholic and while (like the church) I do not agree with homosexuality they are people within our community and are to be treated with kindness and respect - just like all other people who enter a church for we know that we are all sinners. The behavior of these Christians you are referring is not Christian-like at all and not consistent with the teachings of the church. In addition, homosexuality i s one of the sins mentioned in the Bible. Why the focus I do not know. The reality is that if we consider all the sins in the Bible there is not a single person who is not a sinner - including all Christians. In fact our Mass virtually starts out to ask for forgiveness. As Jesus said 'let the one without sin among you be the first to throw the stone (at Mary Magdalen)" nobody threw a single stone. By the way it is not just Christians but it is at least the all of the major religions of Christianity, Judaism and Islam (I am not sure but I doubt if Hindu accepts homosexuality). That is one side but on the other side the gay and lesbian community sometimes is also despicable as in our local gay pride parade. If people in other parades behaved the way some of them do they would be arrested. I do not want to see anybody behave in such derogatory manner irrespective of their orientation. They seem to behave like they are the only ones with sexual organs and need to show them to the world. A little modesty would do much for their integrity. I also object to the the state calling the union of two gay or lesbians as a "marriage" the same as between a man and a woman. It is not a matter of one being better than the other but different than the other. Mine "marriage" is the joining of me and my wife by God. Clearly the joining of two same sex people cannot be by God and should not be called a "marriage". Thank you.

The Bible is where GOD says that a man and a woman are made to be together. It is not our place to condemn others. We are to Preach, teach, and move on. There is a time that GOD will Judge, not us. You are correct there. (The scripture is quite clear about the fact that men are to be with women and not men, also that women are to be with men and not women. These are very clearly detailed in HIS writings.) Have a great week.

In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with a man or woman having attraction to someone of the same sex, it's like any other impulse or desire, but God has called us to separate ourselves from the animals by not acting on these impulses. While I myself do not find other guys attractive, I do have impulses to do or say things that seem natural, but are against the law, either God's or man's. Adultery in any form is wrong, and God has called us to hold out on any sexual act other than with a spouse of the opposite sex. I don't make the rules, but I won't condemn anyone for having impulses or attractions to behaviors that are against them, as long as they don't act on them, and even then, it's not really my place to do anything than inform them that they can be forgiven for it, and discourage repeating the offense. Being a homosexual in the sense that a person can find the same sex attractive is not wrong inherently, but acting on it or lusting after it is the sin; but none of us are above having impulses that go against Godly statutes.

Because it is not there place to condemn someone because of sexual preferance. Homosexuality is not a sin it is not a choice it is something that is in the brain a chemical inbalance or something of that nature. that would be like me condemninng men for liking womens boobs, it cant be stopped we like boobs. you can't stop someone from being gay they will be gay whether you like it or not so get over your selves and leave them alone. Come and get me I'm an atheist I'll take you all on and win.

If Christians took time to deal with their gossip people they would not have time to worry about the fags. Gossipers are not inheriting the kingdom and they do not even know it.
