Cat has a toothache?

Question

I took my cat to the vet a couple of moths ago and she said he needed to have a tooth pulled. I don't exactly have extra funds right now so we havent gotten it done. But now I think his tooth is bugging him tonight cause he is hiding under the bed and moewing like crazy. I have done all the typical things to see what is wrong and that the only thing I can come up with is a toothache (he wont let me near his mouth). Any suggestions on how to help my cat from the pain of a toothache?

I already know I have to get the tooth pulled and am currently working on finding the funds, I just want to releave some of his pain.

Hi there...your cat truly needs to be seen by a veterinarian urgently because some cats develop abscess/infections that can become life-threatening. Your cat needs dental care now. If this tooth has caused an abscess it can become infected and cause a whole host of other problems. Not to mention, your cat probably will stop eating on top of it all. If a cat doesn't eat for 48 to 72 hours, it can be life threatening, their liver will start to shut down.

I know what it's like to have a sick pet and not have the funds to take care of it, but you need to figure out a way (borrow, beg) or else you will be looking at a bill 3 to 5 times higher than for just the tooth and dental work up. Check with your vet and ask if there is anyway you can do a payment plan. Do NOT give your cat human pain medication (advil / aspirin / etc.). I had to have a surgery done on my pet pig to the tune of $1700! I borrowed it to get the procedure done (he had a visible abscess on his jaw). It's not easy to ask for the money, but better now than later!

He may have an abcessed tooth. If this is the case, you will have to find the money and have it pulled. Bad teeth can cause other medical conditions that will be a lot worse than a bad tooth. Your vet may allow you to make payments, ask.

i know how it is when it comes to not having funds. yes cats can get real sick if its a bad infection. but u can use baby orajel and baby aspirin. one pill will be enough. there are places that can help u with funds. just have to call your vet or other vets. call your shelter too. just keep calling people about it u will get answers. allot of them will tell u no but keep trying ppl. good luck and god bless.

Try to see if he will come out for some milk or tuna. Either in pill form or liquid you can give him a small dosage of Tylenol or benedril. The pill form you can give around 1/2 up to one whole capsule. Liquid, usually 1 to 2 cc.
