Guacamole, no question! Although avocadoes are fattening, they're also healthy. French onion dip, on the other hand, is just plain bad for you... but with Lay's potato chips, there's nothing better!

That depends on what you are putting in the French Dip and the Guacamole..
First of all avocado's not contain any trans-fats. and that is good but when you add cream cheese and other such things to this and French Dip---you have cholesterol city and that is not good. Occasionally a little dip or Guacamole is OK to indulge in as it will not kill you but a constant diet of it might. what really matters is not whether a food is healthy or not but what your body chemistry does to it to make it healthy or not healthy. Everyone's body chemistry is a little different ---that is why you see people who eat and eat and still are thin and do not gain weight whereas others put on the pounds if they do the same thing.

The french onion dip is better for you. Avocados are very high in calories (one medium sized avocado contains 165 calories). If you use a few avocados to make guacamole, the calories will add up (combined with the tomatoes, onions, etc.). Just 3 avocados by themselves would be more fattening than the sour cream.
An 8-ounce container of sour cream (the primary fattening ingredient in french onion dip) contains 492 calories.

Relatively speaking, the Guacamole IS healthier than the French Onion dip.... BUT..... Avacadoes are quite high in cholesterol and natural plant oil/fat. IF you choose to make guacamole at home, I like to keep a simple approach to the preparation. Using 3-4 ripened avacadoes cut into a medium dice, I simply add red onion, diced tomato, fine diced jalapeno, rough chopped cilantro and a generous squeeze of lime juice. Simply add salt and fresh ground pepper to taste at this point along with a 2 Tablespoon drizzle of olive oil to act as a preservative and increase the viscosity and mouth feel of the finished product.
Hope this helps and enjoy whatever it is that you choose to prepare.

It depends on what you put in them, Generally the guacamole is healthier as avocados HAVE NO CHOLESTEROL as cholesterol ONLY comes from ANIMALS. Last time i checked an avocado isnt an animal.Having said this they are still full of fat.

Guacomole...is the better one...especially if it is homemade..with fresh ingredients...Avacodoes are good for your skin and if I'm not mistaken your health also....It seems as if the french onion dip may be more fattier...or heavier....because of the diary...and the sodium... although both options TASTE good..I would have to say go with the guacomole....
