Of course they can, otherwise they wouldn't be offering such great buy out deals and early retirement to their older workers.. but that doesn't mean that they can do that for a long period of time... that is just a way to adjust to their losses, namely to Toyota that has left them eating dust during their last quaterly sales.

The protest against Ford Motor Company is just silly. They aren't loosing anything. Sales of Ford have been up almost 30% this year. Ford is doing great.

NO, as bad as the economy is, The big three are posting big sales...Think about it.. If you were selling 10 cars a month.. then sold 0 cars the next month..Then sold 1 car the next month.. Your sales profit would be 100% over the previous month.. Alot of company's that post loses are projected loses...I.E. We would have made $1 million this year, but only made $500,000.. So our company has lost $500,000 for this year...It's a tax thing...Windfall taxes don't work.. They are just passed on to us the consumers..Ford didn't take part in the bailout , because they didn't need to.. THE only reason they went to congress was to have a cushion.. Ford had projected the failure of GM (now Government Motors) and Chrysler,,They just didn't know of bad it would be.. Alot of people were affected by this turn down of the auto industry.. I was laid offed from Dana over it..It happens..

Well the American companies had a opportunity to upgrade there methods and make better cars. Or to give incentives to sell more. They made the wrong choice. I love the USA. I would never buy a crappy ford. I only buy Japanese. They need to start making good cars. If they want to make a profit.

They are toast. They will never recover from this one.. They have embraced a anti-christian agenda and I would not buy a ford because of it.

well I'm gay and we seem to have the biggest amount of disposable income in this country...I don't think Ford's demise has anything to do with sexual preferences....I don't think the boycott had any effect.
