To cats, offering a butt to sniff is like offering to shake hands.
Sorry, the cat considers it good manners.
Approach her from the front and praise her. Ignore her if she shows her less than pretty side.
PS. there is no way for the cat to be in heat. The vets remove all the parts that secrete hormones that cause heat behavior.

It's a cat's nature to do that. When you start petting her near her tail, her butt will automatically go up in the air, It's nothing you can stop her from doing, not going to change either. With her arms out stretched and butt up in the air, she's stretching. Don't yell at her or hit her either. Just deal with it. It's not gross either. Can't figure out why you think that. My cat is 12 years old, she always does the butt in the air thing. If I scratch her at the base of her butt, she starts licking her paws. The tail of a cat and dog are attached to the spine. Inside are a bunch of little nerves. When you pet her on the rear end, the butt will rise every time. Nothing can be done about it, that's what you call nature. Don't scold her, don't get mad at her. It's some thing that just happens.

She is just showing how comfortable she is with you and how much confidence she has in your care for her.
Kittens always do this for their mothers, so she can inspect and clean their rear ends. If you think this is gross, how else do you think the mama cat is supposed to do this? People have hands, wash cloths, and diapers.
Anyway, she is not trying to seduce your children; she is treating them like her mother.
Rub her head and cheeks and scratch behind the ears to encourage her to present her head to you instead of her tail.

it truly is a fashion of your cat to reveal that they are snug round you. be conscious that once animals meet one yet another for the first time, they sniff one yet another's booty? Get used to it because your animal gained't stop. do no longer punish the cat both.

shes just showing affection and wanting u to return affection! that's an easy way to let Ur kids know. i also think that animals showing there body parts is way different then when humans do it! there should be no reason kids should not know what animal parts that is. omg its an animal. its not like Ur boyfriend or one of there friends are the ones doing it. its just animal behavior.

My cat does it also. I took her to the vet but he said some cats are just like that, it's just a way of showing affection.

Most, if not all, animals spray out a substance called pheromone. This inplies that that specific animal owns or claims said object, or in this case person, as their own. In laymens terms, she loves you and all you bring around. It just means your cat is social and wants to claim things as his/her own. Nothing to worry about.

She wants her back scratched. Right by her tail. All cats do this. Just scratch her back.

I for one think you should have a serious talk with her about her offensive behavior. She should know better than that and start acting like a lady. She's a cat for crying out loud!!!!!!!!!!!!
