Not only have Christians told me evolution is false, but they tell me it is a ridiculous idea if I think about it. Is that so? Hmm... what a more logical alternative you present, though.

The whole theory behind evolution is the big bang theory, a spark that may have created the universe. However, even though man has evolved over the years, their was a divine intervention that happened - thus giving man a free will; their soul essentially. God took what was already there and made it better, in essense. All practicality asside, The earth has evolved over it's millions of years of existance - but God has reigned over the Universe for a much longer period than that. With out God, thier never would have been the spark that started the Creation of man and beast.

Alot of Christians fight evolution because they think (in error) that the Bible says the earth is about 6000 years old, and that it started at the time you read of in Genesis. Unfortunately, they are not correct, and are well-meaning - just not taught.
The Bible does not state that at all. In fact, it does state that this earth is so very old - eons old - that there was even an earth age before this one we live in today.
As far as the "rib" is concerned - If you go back to the original manuscripts, you will find what is written is actually "curve", not rib. It was just translated wrong. Did you ever hear of a DNA curve? Anyway, thats for the what its worth department.

First of all, it's not based on logic, it's based on faith.

Second of all, if you research all the theological studies, you'll see that the findings have been proven, while Darwin's theory, among others, are just that..... theories. Nothing has been proven.

Thinking that we emerged from apes are a non-believers' way of trying to make sense out of something they can't understand. When, in fact, humans were created first, and apes were just one of God's other creations when he was trying to make a suitable companion for man.

That said, the theory that suggests we all just appeared one day when the earth let out a big belch is just ludicrous.

If you feel this strongly about the subject, do some research for yourself instead of always relying on what other people tell you to believe.

I am Christian and believe in evolution but I think that God created it if you know what I mean. Some Christians get kinda pissed when I say this but whatever I think that there is a little bit of truth in everyone's therory so I decide what I want to believe or don't want to believe.

Christians can be kinda rude when they tell people that they are wrong. Most of us aren't like that, I think that you probably had a bad encounter.

First of all it's incorrect to assume all Christians do not believe in evolution.

Those that don't are usually bible thumping, religious-right, Ted Haggard fundamentalist Christians. Theologically ignorant and anti-intellectual.

Most of your mainline Protestant and Roman Catholics are able to see that faith and reason go together. Evolution may just be, theologically speaking, the means by which God has chosen to create and that science has discovered the validity of that way.

I also believe in a combination of both Creationism and Evolution. But let's not forget that practicing religion requires faith, and having faith means believing in something you can't always explain. People of faith should not be derided because of that. Science is based on finding the logic and facts in things. So of course you are going to find a lot of people who have a hard time merging the two together. Faith does not require proof and science does. It's hard to combine the two of them, but some people, like myself, do.

Is it possible that we both can agree if I state it like this?

1) Almighty God is a belief that some people have.
2) Assuming that God is almighty then making man out of dirt would be no more or less difficult than making him out of peanut butter.
3)The formation of life from dead chemicals (abiogenisis) is a hypothesis and NOT a theory according to the accepted scientific method.
4)Scientists do not believe hypotheses they only try to progress then to theories.
5)Anyone believing a hypothesis is not a scientist but exercising faith in something that they cannot explain.(which is why it is a hypothesis).

Personally I have no criticism of what you believe in. I only question why you call it science.

I believe in a Creationism/Evolution Combo, if that makes any sense. I Believe that God created the earth and the creatures that populate it, including man. Part of His blue print was evolution. Anyone that denies the existence of evolution is closed-minded. Evolution is all around us, we have evidence of it in nature. I just happen to believe that the process is just part of God's design, to allow man and animals to adapt to our changing environment.

God did that...
It's so simple
One scripture you might consider
Jesus said
You must become as a little child to enter into heaven
They are innocent, not hardened as we are,
and so intellectual, that we miss the smallest of all things
faith to believe, not only in this also many other things

I am curious as to why men would rather believe in what another
man taught, rather than a supernatural God

It's a catch 22, in my opinion, because, if God created the universe from nothing, as I believe, it wouldn't be all shiny and new; He would've made it as though it had been around for milennia. The creation story, to me, is just his way of ensuring that the choice to worship Him will always be made out of faith, rather than having tracked down the history of the universe to its beginning. He may very well have created everything as though it had evolved naturally, but He wants us to recognize, out of faith, that He made it. It's not for everyone, so if you don't want to buy it, it's not up to me to sell it.
