i feel that its wrong to lie to oneself and continue being in a relationship. i broke up with my first boyfriend mainly because his room smelled like a mix of *** and curry powder. it wasnt the only reason. i broke up with my second boyfriend because he got boring once we started dating, the conversations werent interesting and i felt he didnt want me anymore. it would be silent on the phone and he never made and effort to come see me. im also very picky about who i "talk to". i became uninterested in a guy because he was dorky , by dorky i mean imature and annoying. i also stopped "talking" to another guy because he was younger than me ( i was worried because my first boyfriend was younger than me and i didnt enjoy being with him). i tend to not make too much of an effort because im tired of being dissapointed.

I kinda see myself in you. I consider myself picky ( well, I'd rather call it selective!) when dating or talking to a guy. One little thing that they do wrong, which to some might appear childish, ( act too immaturely, sit, smell, look, groom, act a certain way that annoyed me, talked with a high pitched voice etc) and I start having second thoughts and end it. For some, it's a way of protecting themselves ( building a wall, not showing your true feelings etc) or maybe it might be a fear of commitment. You find things to knit pick so that gives you a valid ( in your opinion) excuse to break up or not talk to them anymore. A defense mechanism.

Well, the smell issue may not be a small thing (and what a combo!)

The thing is that a hundred small things can be jsut as bad as one large thing.

BUT, you seem to set standards that you do not want to be met, so you can break up.

Find out what it is you want from a relationship and see why it is hard for you to have them met

Well i think its not wrong becuse you need to do what your heart tell you to do, like what feels right. But if there is small things that bother you, you and your partner could talk about it and try to solve them....

I would say no, based on your reasoning. I think if you liked them enough you’d be willing to give it a try, but it sounds like there wasn't any reason that made you want to stay. You can't force yourself to like someone. :)
