Why do all teardrop shaped nuts/seeds (Almonds, Peanuts, Sunflower seeds) split perfectly down the middle when you bite into them?

theyre endosperms.
thats the way they grow.
when you bite on them the pressure causes them to split.

Because they are made from 2 halves. The split is already there; biting into them just opens them up along their "fault lines" rather than creating a new divide.

They do not always, it has to do with the way you hold them and pressure you bite down with, and the way you place them in you mouth, the position you place and hold them.
