you can connect other things that will play through the car speakers such as mp3 players, portable dvd players, etc.

basically its for an i-pod or mp3 player or any other out side device you might want to plug in to it and make it function through the car radio,but that's really all it is for ,good luck with it hope this help,s.

it is a 3.5mm jack input for portable devices such as mp3 players cd players ect...to use it just get a line in wire aka 3.5mm to 3.5mm...
