So about 11 days ago i had a tooth extraction on a regular tooth and a wisdom tooth; both located on my bottom jaw. The wisdom tooth seems to be doing okay as its causing me no pain but the other tooth the was removed due to decay seems to be puzzling me. A few days ago white stuff formed on top of my blood cott and it seemed to be doing fine but it just kept falling off and yesterday another white kinda rice looking thing covered my blood cott again, this time covering the gash where the tooth was removed and it seems to be almost unremoveable and on top of that this pinkish color thing is starting to form. Is this normal for the healing process or is it getting infected. And when is it a good time to start normal brushing and eating normally again because for the pass week i have only been able to floss and brush the front teeths, and chew with my front teeth in order to prevent a delay to my healing.

It is part of the healing process. Rinse your mouth with either salt water or Listerine after meals. That will act as an antiseptic and help in healing. If you start having a bad taste in your mouth or any swelling you should be seen by your dentist.

You should call the dental office where your teeth were extracted for a follow up - If you are otherwise in good health, that should have been healed by now. The "white stuff" is an indication of infection and needs immediate attention. Good Luck

white layer will b there during healing process nothing to worry.. and always remember when ther is infection ther will always be pain so if u dnt have pain there is no infection. u can do normal brushing by now as its more than a week..but always rinse properly after eating anything coz if anything gets deposited in the socket then it will go for infection..have a nice day.get well soon and iam a dentist u can take my word with trust...

HELLO G,
AT THIS POINT YOU CAN START TO BRUSH AND FLOSS IN THE USUAL WAY. THE LITTLE WHITE AREA WILL GRADUALLY BECOME PINK LIKE THE REST OF THE GUMS.
YOU CAN ALSO CHEW NORMALLY.
