Thats a draw. I have no preacher, I study via the manuscripts on my own - but, between the preachers I hear, and the History Channel they are both unlearned.
I just watched a program tonight on that channel about the Book of Revelation, and the "scholars" they got comments from were so off the mark that I was amazed. So in short, I'm not condemning the History channel, just the folks they think are qualified to make judgements on the Word.
Oh, my the preachers: Well, Ignorant is bliss, I suppose.
Many of them teach that people don't even need to study the Book of Revelation, because you won't be here - youi'll be raptured out. The rapture is a man-made idea and does not have any presence in the Scriptures whatsoever.
Any Christian who thinks that it is necessary that they fly out of here instead of to stay and do the Fathers Work during that most important time, is a person who doubts the power of their God.
They must think that God is unable to provide them protection, so has to remove them. Its complete nonsense, a bunch of single Bible verses that are taken out of context, and then brought together to form an illusion. Its from Satan, not God, and will be the downfall of what God says will be the mass majority of Christian people, because they will think when Antichrist comes First disguised as Jesus, that it is in fact the real Jesus, come to rapture them out. They will end up worshipping the fake "jesus".
When the true Christ returns AFTER this event, these same people will wish for rocks to fall on them and kill them rather than to face the real Christ. Think about the tv preachers who will have led thousands of thousands of people to be devil worshippers. I'd want rocks to fall on me, too, if it were me.

Hopefully my preacher otherwise he paid way to much for school and I shouldn't be listening to him. On a serious note though, The History Channel is good if you just want something to regurgitate speculation and what the majority believe or a select group of Dr.s and Scientist believe or have researched on the Bible. Religion on the other hand and faith (something scientist do not have) should be left to Theologians, so I would go with my Pastor on this route. Or course, I would have to check everything he says with my bible as well. I don't follow anyone but God blindly.

I'd have to say The History Channel because oftentimes when they have bible shows they get input (via interview) from numerous sources including scholars like archeologists and scientists, clergy, and historians. So it's like you get a number of various perceptions regarding the topic instead of one single point of view. Basically - the History Channel makes you think and form your own conclusions whereas a preacher might say it's his way or the highway, and if you just read the book, you don't get the historical, religious, social, and scientific background and context in which to analyze the material.

Your question is pretty vague. But the history channel doesn't know squat as far as I'm concerned about the Bible,; so my answer is my Preacher, of course.
Reason? He's a man of God who studies to show himself approved; rightly dividing the Word of truth.

Since I'm not Christian I would say the History channel. I like their documentaries - they have Biblical scholars from different denominations give views, if there is any archaeological evidence they present that. They discuss the contradictions. And they do it in a way that is not condemning Christianity or other religions.
I like their evolution documentaries as well - they keep the two separate.

I believe my Pastor Joel Osteen does. Why? Because while the history channel brings in many people with varying degrees of knowledge, my pastor has devoted his entire life to studying and teaching the Bible. You asked and this is my answer.

All I see on the History Channel about the Bible are Davinci Code-type stories about Jesus, and other common myths. Nothing factually evident though.

The History Channel isn't really a person. But since I don't have a preacher, I guess it would be the TV station. Even though, I don't have cable. Or, TV.
