Babies are not "forced" to be baptized. Actually there are a few denominations that have infant baptism. This is where the parents actually make a promise to God, they will do their utmost to raise this child in a godly home, environment.
During my childhood, I was not forced to attend Sunday school. I went because I wanted to go and learn about Jesus. Also, most my childhood friends were there.
Some children at a very young age do come to God and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Nothing wrong with that!
Now if the child is living in a family that follows the off the wall cults out in this world, they may be "forced" to believe the way of the parent.
That is brainwashing!
Most prominent denominations, don't "force" a child to believe.
Those that do believe have heard the voice of God calling out their names and recognized Him.
Communion is not to be taken unless you have truly repented of your sins. Most denominations do not allow a child to take communion. The Catholic church forbids any one not a "member" of that denomination to take part in communion. My opinion, they are wrong in that sacred act that any believer can take part in.

Yes, this will be a "force" issue for everyone that does not believe in a covenant theology that sees baptism as a replacement for Old Testament circumcision. However, the other side of the coin for the people that do look at it in this manner, would be a disdain for the people who do not wish to mark their children as belonging to the Lord, waiting till they have reached an age of reason not found in or supported by Scripture. However, rather than calling each other sick and disgusting, perhaps we could try learning from each other and not getting so angry about other people's beliefs.

The parents are performing their duties as Christians, raising their children in the Faith and teaching them right from wrong. How is that disgusting?
When the children become adults, they are then responsible for their own decisions. In the meantime, they depend on their parents for deciding things for them that they aren't capable of doing themselves yet.
There is nothing immoral about baptizing a baby. It removes the original sin and brings them into the grace of God. Children do not receive communion until they've been confirmed in the Church and understand what they are doing. Nothing is being violated.

Before you go shotin your mouth off mabey you should get your facts straight. I can't speak for any other religion than my own but I am Catholic and a Catholic babtisim does not forever bind you to the church. It simply clenses you of your sins it does NOT force you into anything and you can not be forced into becoming a member of the Catholic church. When children are 16 or 17 they have the choice of wheather or not they wish to be a member of the church. If the persons parents are forcing the child into it all they have to do is tell the priest or the bishop that the do not want to be confermed and the church will honnor their request. So next time before you go putting down other peoples religion, know what you talking about first because right now you sound like a complete and total idiot!

Actually, I agree and disagree with you. I agree to the fact of not giving them communions at young age because they would not understand and it will be just a game for them, so I will certainly not send them until I don't see them mature enough. I disagree because you can let them "grow naturally" I really don't know what you mean by that. I am grateful to my parents for teaching me the little faith they have, is the only thing that gives meaning to my life. If you don't believe in God, I understand what you are trying to say, but you need to understand that because you don't believe does not mean that God does not exist. I am talking to you as a son I don't have kids and I am not even married yet. My mother and my father never told me that I will go to hell, they have always had trust in God. I am forever grateful to God, for giving me those parents with faith and giving me the gift of faith.

Well, first off, it they are MY children MY responsibility and I will thank you kindly to keep YOUR nose and YOUR opinion out of it. Seriously, you did not want them nor do your really care about them. You most likely believe in abortion as well. The state and anyone else needs to keep to themselves and quit telling us how to raise children.
Now, to answer some more of your questions. Communion is a sacrament and a child may eat in innocence or the parent can abstain till the child understands what it means and makes the choice for themselves.
Baptism should always be given at the request of the believer. Never at the request of a parent. Dedication is another story as it means the parents will do their best to raise the child in God's ways and the believers in the Church agree to stand by the parents and help in all ways possible.
Finally, our belief systems are far better than what society would teach our children. Do what you want to do to feel good? Live how you want to live and so on... now that is disgusting.

I am a Christian and I completely agree with you. Babies should not be baptized and no one, especially children should be forced into such a thing. One should be aware of why they are being baptized and I don't believe a small child holds that type of religious understanding let alone a baby. Baptism should be something that one chooses to do when they do realize what's going on and are able to make a conscious decision on their own to do so. God gave man choice in the garden, who are we to be dictatorial? Have we put ourselves above God?

I am a Christian and I agree with you, the christening which most feel is a baptism is not a profession of faith. It is a dedication....I don't believe children should be baptized until they can make that personal decision. The communion on the other hand is open to anyone that is willing to partake...it's God's table, but i do teach my children the true and proper meaning of it. Also one day they will have the choice to partake or not.

I agree 100%. You couldn't be more right. The main reason so many people are religious, is because they have had these ignorant beliefs ingrained since they were very young. They never stood a chance. I actually feel sorry for alot of them. They cannot help but believe as they do.
