If you borrow his computer and check into his web history, you are. If it's your computer, you have every right to check what other people use your computer for.

No you are NOT invading his privacy. This is your computer. This is NOT his personal e-mail account or on line bank statements which require passwords. If you were to get into those things then yes, you would be invading his privacy. This is just the history on a web browser. That is public info. and if he didn't want people to see it he could/should have cleared it.

If your son-in-law is using your computer then how can checking the history be private? He really wouldn't have a leg to stand on unless it was his and you saw his history, but you don't want to get caught doing what you shouldn't then you shouldn't do the deed.

well if you go looking on history to find out what he is looking at then yes,. But if he is looking at porn, well you know you could put an end to that real quick. Have pages with sexually explicit pictures blocked. Now what is he going to do go hey my page of *** naked girls wont come up. When he asks about it, go hmmm let me check it out. Go to about five web pages that you know will work ( you would look silly if they didnt) and then say well it looks fine what page are you having trouble with.
Go to administrative controls and do this. YOU are the administrator mind you and everyone must use a minor account. Tell them a bs story about friend saying the settings were too low to be safe and insist that if they are blocked they must have tons of vifruses in them. It is your comp.

I dont think he could use your computer for anything he considers private.Unless he is a first timer he is supposed to know there is no privacy in using one computer.

If he doesn't want it found then he shouldn't use your computer.
As for the first poster, don't let your neighbor go into your computer because they are invading your privacy on your own computer.

You are definitely invading his privacy. My neighbor is doing the same thing. she is using my computer and checking everything. I don't like that but I'm shy to tell her.

First of all, it's your computer. You are intitled to do what ever you want with it. If you don't want him to go to certain areas or websites on YOUR computer, then you need to be open on that.
