Because your hair is so long, when you're winding your hair on the iron, you're overlapping and overlapping, so the top area has several layers of hair blocking it from the heat. You can try to curl the end sections, and then do it again to the top section, leaving the already curled ends out. It should help, but it might take a few times to get it right. Good luck!

Have you tried hot rollers, or hot sticks? They usaully do the trick. I do people's hair all the time, and when it comes to curling long hair that's what works the best. Then you can use the curling iron for any touch-ups. Both products are sold at Wal-Mart. It also matters what kind of hair spray you use. You need a good hold without makning them hard.

Same thing kinda happens with me!

would it help if you do it in two sections, like just do the top of the strand, then do the end?

it could be possible that the top of your hair isnt touching the hot part of the curler..

hope this helps!

Good luck with ur hair! = ]

do smaller pieces of hair and go up through the hair and wind the hair around the curler with the ends last , instead of curling the ends first, tht will help

Keep you heat high and while your hair is on the iron give it a spritz of hairspray. Also my hair is long and i need a spiral curler, you can get one at Sally Beauty Supply
