Muslims believe that Jesus (Prophet Isa) did not die and is still alive. Instead the man on the crucifix was a replica sent by God. Some people believe that the crucified man was in fact the traitor who deceived Jesus. The Islamic belief is that Jesus will come down to Earth at the end of time where he will bring all fellow believers to Paradise. Well, something like that :)

The dogma is usually that he was indeed dead, but then rose bodily from the grave. If you complain that in that case, Jesus being God, the universe must've been godless for the three days which legend wedges between Good Friday night and Easter Sunday morning, the reply is that although Jesus is God, he's also God's son; and God loves us so that He was willing to sacrifice His only son, as a blood offering to Himself to quell His wrath at us for sinning against Him; so that only a part of God was dead those three days. If you object that that explanation is insane, delerious, self-contradictory nonsense, welcome to theology.

It is precisely because He was dead that He could be resurrected. Otherwise it would be called resuscitation! If the hanging on the cross did not kill Him, then the spear to the side would. If that could not get the job done, then three days of bleeding from the womb (with shock and no food and no treatment) would do the job. Come on, just acknowledge what history has already affirmed. Jesus DIED on the cross.

First you must read the beginning of the bible in Genesis 1: talks of the beginning God created the heavens and the earth and the earth was empty had no form, darkness covered the ocean and -God's Spirit was moving over the water. In chapter 26 "God said Let us make human beings in our image and likeness." So from the beginning of all time Jesus was with God..When Jesus was born of a virgin Mary, He became in form of a man, he was raised by Mary and Joseph and grew from a child to a man. Jesus was part of God, his son in the new testiment in John first chapter repeats this..( He) is Jesus and the Word was with God and the Word was God ( it is speaking of Jesus) Now to your question : If you know the Father (God ) you know Me for we are one and the same...Before Jesus left to die on the cross to bear all of our sins on the cross so we would not have to have the result of our sins which is death; Jesus told his diciples about his coming death and compared it to a sheep going to be slaughtered. He was the lamb or sacrifice. He cried out God why have you forsaken me before he died that is because God cannot look at any sin and at that time Jesus was hanging on the cross, he took all of our sins upon himself for he was pure of no sins. Jesus did die on the cross, there were witnesses,as well as the guard would stick his spear into him to see the water from his lungs expell out. he was laid to rest in a tomb and 3 days later Jesus was raised from the dead. You must remember that during his time on earth after he arose over 500 people saw him and talked with him as well as the ones that saw him acend into heaven but not before he said he would send the one called the Holy Spirit to be with us always...Faith is believing even when you don't feel it.. so my friend I do hope this helps some I am just a old lady grandma who reads the bible and prays for wisdom. Reach out pick up the Word of God and read. Ask for understanding and He will give it to you. Bye

I'd imagine that it would be hard to survive a crucifixion.Common effects of crucifixion included asphyxia and heart failure. Then,he was stabbed through the side with a lance.Blood and water came gushing out,an indication of death. If somehow he survived,he would have had to push over the stone at the entrance to the tomb, and overpower a few Roman guards who would have been armed and ready for combat.Definitely not an easy task.

Yes. At Ro. 6:9, it says: "For we know that Christ, now that he has been raised up from the dead, dies no more, death is mastery over him no more." God did not die; his Son did. God the Father raised Jesus from the dead." (Gal. 1:1)
Jehovah God is from everlasting to everlasting. (Ps. 90:2) Not so with his Son, Jesus.

He was dead. This is a mystery. There are several things we may not understand until we get to Heaven. I am o.k. with that.
