It could a gas bubble trapped in your small intestine. Or you might need to burp. Try drinking some ginger ale

The muscles being too tight might be the reason. Most knots are known as trigger points. See someone that knows about trigger points. For more information the best book for the average person is The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. It explains and both shows and tells what to do to help yourself.

Best guess: Hiatal Hernia. ( that is pronounced high ate al - sorry I can't find the right spelling) That is where the stomach "falls" a little, and the hole in the diaphragm that the esophagus goes through slides up the esophagus, and constricts it above the opening into the stomach. There is a Chiropractic manipulation that often helps that problem (if I have interpreted your description correctly) but it is too hard for me to describe it in words. (I'm not sure I could adequately describe it in pictures)

You need to see a doctor. You didn't say how old you are. If you're young, it probably is indigestion.
If you're older, it could be your heart.
Do you have an antacid at home? Try it. If it helps, you have indigestion.
