I atended church yesterday for the first time in ages, and all the new Christians came up the front to be prayed for. The pastor said a salvation prayer for them, and told them that they are now Children of God. Most churches think if you say a salvation prayer you are saved. I do not agree with that. Also why do most churches believe once saved always saved? I disagree with that as well. Jesus said in Revelations that no Murderer(any hate for people) slanderer(abusing people)Idolitry, Adultry, Sexual immorality etc will enter the kingdom of God. Take my sister for an example. She claims to be a christian and yet she will go around to my mothers house and call her every name under the sun and she backstabs people, and thinks she is going to Heaven, when the world of God says that people like that will not go to Heaven. I am improving on my behaviour and bad language, and hope to improve more and more, and ask God to forgive me, so by the time I go home either in the rapture

Or in death, which ever comes first, maybe the rapture alive the way this world is going, I hope to have a right standing with God so I can end up in Heaven. Christians if you go to Church and then live like the world such as drinking to get drunk, immoral ways, drugs etc, stop it now before it is too late. Just because somebody believs in Jesus does not mean that they are saved. Satan and his evil angels believe and they are going to the lake of fire after the 1000 years rein of Jesus .You cannot have this world and expect to enter the kingdom of God. Jesus said not everyone who calls me Lord will enter the kingdom of God but those that do the will of my Father who is in Heaven. I am sick and tired of Churches that lie to their congregation. They do not preash enough in Hell or the second coming of Christ which is sad. What do you think?

You are right, except "the rapture" is never mentioned in the Bible.

The Christian life does begin with a "prayer of faith" Read Romans 10:9 some time. No one can become a Christian without starting with a prayer and/or confession of faith.
By you are also right that AFTER the first step, a Christian is suppose to change their life and begin to become more and more like Jesus each day. Would be great if it could happen overnight and instantly. But for most people, it does not. They have to walk in out day by day.
Let me ask you if question. Suppose a person gets married. If they have a fight with their spouse, do they immediately end their marriage? They may have broken their fellowship with their spouse, but not their relationship. They are still married, they just not acting like it at the time. Many Christians have broken their fellowship with God. But that does not immediately end their "relationship" with God.
However, you are also right that there is point where a person can "divorce" God. But it takes a lot more than just a couple of sins, or a bad habit. It takes a conscious decision to end any further relationship with God. If your sister is still desiring to be be a Christian, then she probably has not done that.
What can you do? Simple. Pray for her. You will be surprised how powerful that really can be.

First I would like to say that the event we call the 'rapture' is definately in the Bible, one of those who answered said it was not. The English word 'rapture' is not in the Bible but the actual 'event' that we are talking about is. Being 'caught up in the air....' (above the earth) is not a symbolic thing here....it will actually happen...this is only spiritually discerned...those who deny it have a connection problem with the Holy Spirit....The word "Bible" is not in the Bible either...but I am holding one right now...so lets not get hung up on semantics here.
Many pastors lead their congregation astray because they are in the world. They do not receive the Holy Spirit and they are not led by God.
They are business men, con artists, and many have intellect but no spirituality. If you have those who address themselves as 'prophet' or 'prophetess' so-and-so.....then you should leave that church ASAP. The true test of a prophet is that they are 100% accurate in their prophecies...always. Anything less is not from God.
God does not make mistakes, or forget things...he is not someone who has 'near misses' or comes close to the answer....he is exact in everything and if he sends something to a prophet....it is exact...period.
Just pray for discernment....then take time to listen. You will receive your answers far more definate through the Holy Spirit than you will on Yahoo Answers. Most answers here are shallow and wrong. I found 3 answers to be accurate in 5 months of reading these....blessings to you...be safe and prepared.

You have hit on a very important thing many Christians don't want to talk about. It's called repentance and sanctification. Call me old-school, but I believe prayer is useless if you don't really mean it. I understand people make mistakes, but to continue in the same old habits with no real remorse is ungodly.
But you must remember that the Bible tells us this will happen. In the last days, the love of many will wax cold, and they will fall away from the faith. As the church becomes more and more lax to put more butts in the pews, we are sacrificing quality for quantity. This is why only the elect will not be fooled by the anti-Christ.
It is sad but true -- most ministers care more about being popular than they care about preaching the truth. They don't want to appear "judgemental" so they simply stop calling out sin altogether. They are not being good shepherds.

Most churches start out with the best of intentions. Then over time those who are the best managers rise to the decision making positions.
Then the minister is told what not to preach, a little here and a little there until it is watered down bunk.
What was once a small sincere group of believers has slowly over many years morphed into a big business organization focused solely on numbers. Numbers in the pews translates into numbers in the bank.
Man never seems to learn.

Dear Friend you are on the right path, stay on it.
As long as your sister has entered thru the door [JESUS]
her life before God is between she and Him. You can reprove her, but do it with some humility considering that none of us are perfect. We are all under reconstruction even though we are made perfect in the Father's eyes by being clothed in the Holy Spirit which is the persona of Christ

Friend, I see no misleading by the Church in your statement. They are following what the Bible says concerning coming to Christ. However, there is so much more that the child must be willing to learn and do to remain in right standing before God. Yet, the Church cannot be with your sister every minute of every day, so it is her responsibility to learn more of and obey God. And being a Christian doesn't necessarily mean that you practice Christianity. Christian means one who believes in Christ OR who follows him. They are not the same.

It's because they aren't teaching from the bible, they are just making things up because the people don't want to hear that they have to WORK at being Christians. Good for you for actually reading the Word and seeing the truth.
