okay. first off, ,heat damages your hair. en of story. you can never totally eliminate that. but you can hold hair straight in sections with the brush and blow dry them pointing the dryer down. or you can invest in a straightener. i have thick poofy hair and straightening does wonders to slim i down, and make it look sleeker.

Hello! I understand your problem, and I hope I can help you:
Ojon Products are excellent at smoothing out your hair, while the Chi hair straightener is great at smoothing out and straightening even the poofiest of hair. Both are a bit expensive, but they are the best to use.
Other than that, go to your nearest salon to get products. Ask a hair dresser (don't be embarrased, it's for a good reason!) what products your salon sells for poofy hair, and tips for how to improve it. Don't buy that cheap stuff on the shelves at WalMart. It doesn't work. Trust me!!
Good luck!

You need to be using salon quality product, Look up Bumble & Bumble on the web, their product is awesome! You should also try a smoothing creme. And about the blow drying, if you are going to blow dry you need to be using a difusser (I don't know if I spelled that right) but it is an attachment for your blow dryer that you find at beauty supply stores, and always keep your blow dry on low. Good luck I have curly hair too but I take my time and flat iron it straight =)

LOL live with it dude.. I've had poofy hair for going on 48 years now.. some people like that sorta thing.. just grow it long and let em think yer in a rock band.. (what i do)
Or you could use something like FX Special Effects Extreme Shine (Vogue International) which will halp tame it down a bit...(I use it sometimes)

Shower at night. Use a brand called bed head, there are many different sprays you can buy for that. It's not strange for a guy to do this either, you'll look better anyway, and whats wrong with that? I know guys that take longer than me to get ready in the morning.

have you ever tried a relaxer? You might also try paul mitchell skinny. You can get a relaxer at a salon , make sure they have experience , ask how many have they ever done a permanent straightener or relaxer , make sure they don't just flat iron your hair that's not permanent?
