An Athiest once said something like this,
"i contend sir that we are both Athiest, I just happen to believe in one fewer gods than you do. when you can tell my why it is that you do not believe in every other god that has been worshiped. then you should be able to see why it is that i do not believe in your God."
I would like to know if this statment provokes any thought in your head. so what are your thoughts?

David H,
not every question that i ask, or every answer that i give. has to be based 100% in my religious beliefs.
the beauty of being a Pagan is that my gods are not offended that i ask questions and challenge authority. they expect it, I seek knowlege. Knowlege does not always come from a 2000 year old holy book or from the girimore of some long dead witch. it can be found in the words of a child or the rantings of an adult.
I ask questions that provoke emotional answers, because it is my belief that when in an emotional state the truth of a man is revealed. and some true knowlege may spoken by him. if you have mistaken me for an Atheist because I find some of their thought process interresting i am sorry, but that is your problem not mine.

you know, sometimes you just gotta have faith in what you were brought up as. it does provoke thought, but i think what religion is really about is the way one lives their life. the Bible shows many ways too live happily, and when you believe in something, and you see results from it, whether by coincidence or not, is what makes us to continue to believe

The statement you quote contradicts the definition of an atheist in the first place and is a foolish attempt to sound wise.
Read it.....how can he contend I am an atheist if he doesn't believe in my God?
True belief is faith and faith is belief without seeing. There is a passage in the Bible that asserts that "man is without excuse".
While we cannot see God, touch him, we can see His Lordship over everything in creation. While one might believe in evolution
from a cell, or the big bang theory or whatever...it all had to start
from somewhere. Someone had to create the cell...someone
had to create whatever banged. And it wasn't Ghandi, Buddha,
or John Wesley...it was the God who has always existed, exists
today and will exist for evermore.

Being the Pagan Priest that you have said you are, I think you also try to present yourself as a cross-atheist. I'm not for sure if you have a grasp on what you really do believe.
In answering your question, There is only One True God. To know Him is to know both God and Creator of all. When tasting the very best and the sweetest of all, why would I want to take a chance and grieve Him by trying out worship with some other "god?" Why try to substitute The Real God for any false god. I pray that you'll come to know His Power, Grace, and Love in your life. He really is a Awesome God. PEACE!!!
Your gods are FALSE gods! There is only ONE TRUE GOD, His love letter to you and I is The Bible. Just how many gods do you have? Can they see you, hear you, touch you, speak to you since they are all dead? Cry out to your gods when your in need of them and see them lend a helping hand to you...a dead hand that is. The One and Only True God IS ALIVE! He is WELL! He is STRONG! He is ALMIGHTY and POWERFUL! He is there to lend me a helping hand when I need one because He LIVES! Therefore, He sees, hears, speaks, and touches because He Lives. PEACE!!!

I also agree with this quote. I was once an atheist and fully understand their views and reasoning.
Here's another quote I love;
A man rejects God neither because of intellectual demands nor because of the scarcity of evidence. A man rejects God because of a moral resistance that refuses to admit his need for God.

It made me think of a CS Lewis book I read called Mere Christianity. He was a former athiest and goes through a pretty deep philosophical proof of the existance of God. He then goes on and examines different understandings of God, and concludes that there is exactly one God, and He is Jesus Christ.

It is certainly true that many people have not taken the time and effort to think their postion through. Romans 2:24 tells us that the name of the Almighty is blasphemed because of those who pretend to follow Him. Churchianity is a Pagan religion, which bears very little resemblance to true worship.

I think the atheist who wrote that accomplished just what he set out to do, provoke questions in your mind about your belief in your God. Funny thing though, when you're sure you stand on the right foundation of God, nothing can shake you.

How about the "compromise"? We,(Christians) gave up all the other gods, the Atheist only has to add just one.

If believing in God, takes me away from life of debauchery, lies, deception, hate and guilt, what is wrong in that ? If it gives the poor, hope, what is wrong in that ?
If however, it distances me from logic, from empathy, from unconditional love and respect for fellow human being, instills hate against those who do not 'conform', then there is everything wrong with it.
Why not just be a good human being...everything else can follow....

I think that he is uneducated and certainly no student of history. We follow the judeo-christian belief. It works for me. For him, I really don't care. Not though provoking at all. I will forget his silliness immediately.
Now, how does this provoke your thoughts? Why are Atheists, as they like to call themselves, the shrill, insulting, and often illiterate ones asking questions and not allowing answers?
