Was it good or bad?
What if you don't like the person?
Any tips for breaking the ice when you meet in person?
I signed up for a sight a while ago, but I don't have the guts to do actually use it.

I have actually done online dating through several sites and met many great women. I've had my share of "surprises" but if the person lied to me about anything (i.e. appearance, height, etc.) then I would end the date imediately, with no hard feelings.

If you don't like the person, then no harm no foul. There are no guarantees in life, esp. in going on a blind date (which is what this is really)

Breaking the ice - make them laugh, and ask more questions about them, rather than talking about yourself the whole time.

Don't have the guts... what do you have to lose?

I've met a few people online. You may be very nervous at first, but if you hit it off, it's just like meeting someone new in person. With the online thing you just have more information before you meet. Be sure to do it in a public place so that way if the person is crazy you can leave with no problem. Have a friend call you in case you need to be rescued. Good luck.

using a dating site is easy and you can gradually get to know someone. It is a good idea to meet at a coffee shop for the first date. That way if there is no chemistry you can always get your coffee to go. Hopefully you have talked enough on the dating site to know what they are interested in...hobbies, etc. so that is something you can talk about. There are a lot of dating sites that give advice and it is free. You will never know if it works until you try it

Yes, it was generally good. Met two really nice guys and a number of jerks. One guy was OBVIOUSLY copying and pasting the same message to more than one woman. I called him on it.

Just keep your eyes and ears open. Feel free to email them or talk by phone for a while before moving to the in-person stage. Be prepared to meet some jerks or those who generally are tno acceptable. That happens.

My friend emailed me a what to do if you don't like a person. Email me and I'll forward it to you.

“On the Internet, you may not actually know who the other person is. People can lie ... It’s EASY to put on a front on the Internet!”

Maybe what's really going on is that you're heeding your 'gut instinct'.

I've not on-line dated myself ... but a lot of people have.
Many of them have had Very Bad experiences, like these articles warn of:

Yes, he is now my husband. we have been married for 4 years. We spoke over the phone and emailed and wrote for a year before we met in person. Because we took our time before we met, it was ver easy for us to talk when we met. We bascially knew eachother by the time we met.

I have heard honor stories though..be very careful and make sure the person you are chatting with or emailing is who they really say they are. I think you should take your time and if they are honest they will wait. Good luck

It isn't very safe. You could expect a cat and get a lion.
