NO, your parents can not give you permission...it is not their vehicle, they are not the legal owners. The contract your parents signed only authorizes the people listed on the contract as drivers of the vehicle. The rental company gives the authorization, not the person who rented the vehicle.

Rental companies are generally quite specific about who can drive their cars. They ask up front and that persons name is on the contract. If anyone else drives their car:
1) They may not have ANY coverage if they have an accident (which means the renter will be responsible for ALL damage and injury - a pretty steep risk in todays world)
2) If you are stopped by the police, for any reason, you will run the risk of being cited as an non-insured motorist since you name is not on the contract as authorized drivers . THat will be YOUR ticket and it is not cheap either.
bottom line.. Don't run the risk .. and don't risk your parents assets either.

I am a frequent renter and I can tell you that sunshine is semi-right. There are age limits. 25 is the norm for most companies. Enterprise used to rent to 21 but at a higher fee. It's been a while since I was that young. I don't know if they have changed it since. Your safest bet is to rent the car yourself and to add him on as an additional driver so that you're covered for either of you to drive the car. Be careful about the insurance though. Some classes of vehicle are fully covered and some of the more premium classes of vehicle are only partially covered.

Probably not. Car rental companies require a renter to be 25 years old. Sometimes a 22 year old can rent if they work for a company that sponsors employee rentals, but I have never heard of a car company renting to one as young as you. Possibly a "rent a wreck" type car rental company might allow you to rent, but I doubt it. I think you will have to hire a limo if you can't borrow the family car.

If your name isn't listed on the rental agreement as an authorized driver, the answer is NO.

you wont be covered at all on this one if you drive it,they rented it and if it gets a scratch on it they,ll have to pay for it,you could drive it yes,but to get in an accident with it ,would be bad ,so use your own judgment on this one, either way its a chance i wouldn't want to take, good luck with it ,i hope this help,s.
