I am reading "Idiot's Gude to Understanding Islam" and the author states that Islam holds to the belief of a "soul soup" which existed before Allah made the universe and then filled it with humans (see page 24 of the book). In other words, unlike Christianity which teaches that God breathed into the body and man became a living soul, Islam teaches the pre-existence of man in an unembodied state in some kind of primordial soul soup.

Islam also teaches that all people will "see hell" as they cross a razor thin bridge over hell to Paradise. Some will fly over it, some will fall into it, some will be in a limbo state to experience some kind of purgatory before being purged to enter Paradise.

No, the Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) do not traditionally believe in reincarnation. You basically need to find a very liberal and open minded person in these religions to believe in this. As for me I'm a Christopagan, so I definitely believe in it. And since I've had PLR readings, and done some self hypnosis myself, I definitely think this afterlife concept answers a lot of my weird, and unanswered questions.

We, muslims, do believe that there is a life hereafter which is a Never ending life. So anyone who dies stay in their graves till the day of judgement and on that day people will get either heaven or hell. They dont then come to the planet again with flesh on their bodies.
