Cucumber really does help dark circles... slice up some chilled cucumbers and place on your eyes for 10-15 minutes. Cucumber actually helps lighten the skin and is soothing to the eyes.

Teabags are good for puffy eyes - use green, black or brown tea (bot not herbal) Squeeze out the liquid and allow to cool before placing them on your eyes for about 10 mins. Tea contains anti-oxidants that are good for the skin.

The quickest (a least messy) remedy has to be concealer - apply only where you have dark circles, not all around your eyes :-)

I know this sounds really gross, but I swear it is true. Preparation H is not just for, well, you know. Apply a small amount under your eyes twice a day, but be sure not to get any in your eyes. It also works great for the morning after you partake of one too many alcoholic beverages, or the day after balling your eyes out after you get dumped. The ingredients found in Prep H are very potent anti-inflamation agents that work great for dark circles and puffy eyes.

To remove the puffiness, one of the traditional remedies was used tea bags - let them cool, obviously. I have no idea why, but it seems to work.
