They were still able to play the game, weren't they? If He really hated football that much, He would have caused more severe weather -- severe enough to stop the game altogether.
I'm guessing that most people who watch the Super Bowl don't place bets on it -- so God wouldn't spoil the fun for the majority because a minority chooses to gamble on the game.

Purple Rain
I feel like a winner, I got to watch it with spouse, I didn't care for odd scarf on Prince's head, but kudos for an awesome performance (1984 was my 1st year in 7th grade and a very influential year), same year he made a cheesy movie "purple rain" but now 23 years later the guy still rocks hard, plays, writes, sings etc own music and does it with class and finesse
glad to see Colts win, and yes it was an odd score (boo hoo for gamblers)
best gamble is to take a chance at not betting money and losing

God must be like myself, he can not understand why 36 grown men would get out in the middle of the field and bash their heads together over a stupid little ball then play keep away with it. Then he has an even harder time understanding why people would waste so much money on such a stupid sport.

No... I won my bet... clearly he must think gambling is ok... (to reward an atheist like me)...but I do wonder why the great and vengeful sky pixie had it in for that game....
If there has been lightning, I would blame Zeus... but apparently it was the god of floods...

He doesn't hate football, he just hates it when people love football more than him.
