my lovebirds are putting stuff under their wings?

but not doing anything with it! i dunno what gender they are and i know thats how the make nests but htey arent really doing anyuhting with it

Its the female that does this.She will work on her nest by going down on the floor and instead of picking things up with her beak, she will stick it usually in her tail feathers to take back to where she is building her nest. She is also the only one who sits on the eggs, she does not trade off time with the male. Do you have a regular nest box in there cage? Do you want them to have Babies ? iF so , and you are planning to hand tame them...you have to take all the babies out when the youngest has his eyes open. You are the one wh has to go and buy at the pet store, some baby bird formula and hand feed them every few hours for some weeks usually 5 or so. Are you ready for that?And there is still more to it. Or are you going to just let the parents raise them? Just thought I would give you something to think about.

I've heard of birds doing this. I don't know why they do it, but it won't hurt them at all.
