You should also try for positive reinforcement, not negative reinforcement like punishment. Reward good behavior and you will get good behavior. Punish and you will get a mean kitty.

You are not punishing your kitten, you are training it. Remember if you train a cat/kitten now you can stop any bad behavior later. No matter how adorable the kitten is it will be a full grown cat in a very short time..so train your cat now.

I think you parents need to be punished for bringing up an uncivilised creature like you. You do not have any rights to punish any animals and they have all right to remain freely in this world. It is you that wanted the cat to be domesticated.

i have two cats with adorable faces as well-but they are very smart and will walk all over u if u don't strategically place squirt guns all throughout your house. when they act up squirt them. if your cat just gets mad and sits there and just swats at the hard stream of water being shot in his face, like one of mine does then you are SOL.
but usually it works:)

Tap it on the nose very lightly with your finger and look at it firm and say No. My Grand father once told me that a group of guys put turpintine on a cats But and watched it for nine miles.I don't recommend that though.

NEVER PUNISH A KITTEN! WOULD YOU PUNISH A BABY FOR SPILLING APPLE SAUSE ON THE RUG? BESIDES WHAT COULD IT HAVE DONE SO WRONG FOR YOU TO EVEN HAVE THE INNTENTION OF PUNISHING IT!! I OWN 2 CATS! MY GRANDMA OWNS I THINK HMM LETS SEE.. UH, OH YEA 10! DO WE PUNISH ANY OF THEM? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BC WE LOVE THEM! BESIDES, THE WORST YOU CAN DO IS SPRAY IT WITH WATER! depends on what the kitty did...if it scratch furniture use the spray bottle.if it poopood on the floor use rolled up newspaper...not the whole thing ..it is only a baby..paddle it's lil butt and put the lil kitty emmediatly into a cat litter box...the paper paddle doesn't hurt..it is the noise that frightens them and the action

what it do to u? if its urinated or dumped something :P you should smear it or rub it in its face, then when you see it doing again, put it outside or in a kitty litter tray before it starts sniffing places to pee, their are other things to use. scented pads which you can show the cat and it will smell the scent thinking that its a place to it business. good luck

are you insane! you don't PUNISH kittens!
if you are trying to keep it from clawing things the tape a balloon to whatever it is and when it scratches it it will pop and frek the living daylights out of it.
teach, don't punish
