Never too young. Teenagers aren't supposed to drink at all. There's a reason for that and you've apparently found it. Go to the meeting and listen to people. Becoming an alcoholic is too easy and you're not even aware that it's happening. Be safe, or be sorry.

People can be born addicted to alcohol so there is no "too young". There are many young teens who are addicted. So no you are not too young. If you think you have a problem, if you come in here for advice, you do have a problem. Look at Lindsay Lohan, she is 19 or 20 and has sooo much to offer, do and be! I pray, like Drew, she pulls through and continues to awe us with her wonderful acting, and bubbling natural personality.
The legalization of alcohol and allowing it to be served to children, or bought by a friend, anything, is a crime. Alcohol has cost untold lives and pain as you know. I give thanks daily that my girls found their way through it with almost minimal damage. My younger never drank, was always the safe drive home. Gorgeous, popular, she just hated the feeling of losing control and being at the mercy of ANYONE. So she was the photographer, the cleaner upper. And the one who remembered what actually happened at parties. Her rule when she became legal was, "If my ankles wobble in my heels, I stop."
If people are coming to you from love, then pay them some attention. Listen to their words. Family is one thing but when you start to hear this from your friends, then you know there is something to be concerned about. You do not mention how much you drink, but any time you think it is too much, then it is exactly that, too much.
As far as going to an AA meeting, I am sure any of these people who love you would be honoured to accompany you. Remember, something is scary only the first time. After that it is not so scary. Also at that first meeting, you are usually assigned a person to be there for you at any time to talk and help you. After that you are never alone, or a stranger, at meetings.
My dad took his first drink when he was 46. By the time he was 48 he was an alcoholic. It can strike at any time. He kicked it when he was 74 and he and his mentor were very close for the rest of his life. He took his urges and channeled them into helping others and did significant good and helped many others by being their companion.
One thing about these meetings is that they also have sections for different family members so they know what they are dealing with. It can be a family affair. You will need help of those who love you so get them involved. This is when you will find out who truly cares for you. Something tells me you have a strong team rooting for you. Give them a chance to show you how much they love you.
Sweetheart, I wish you well with this. Utlimately it all comes down to you. It is not easy but give thanks you have seen what your problem is at a youngish age. My prayers for your strength. You know, if you are determined, you can do this and come out the other end, stronger, wiser, and back on your upward path of life.
The alternative is too terrible for you to contemplate without being driven to do something as soon as possible. You have recognized you have a problem and that is one of the biggest steps to take. Now.. take action.

These days? unfortunately not.Drew Barrymore was an alcoholic by her teens, if I remember correctly. Ideally you shouldn't be drinking at all yet, but I know that's a dream these days. If you're not sure, seek help. I wish you the best.

Honey, Alcoholism is not a respecter of age. I've known a few your age or younger. Go to that meeting and get cleaned up before you really make a mess of things.
Good luck!

Alcoholism, like drug addictiion knows no age barriers. The first step in solving a drinking problem is to recognize it.

regrettably what we see now's the way ahead for Auatralia. Boozing and fornication has change into portion of our lifestyle and we dont see it merely contained in the city yet contained in the darkish nooks and corners of the suburbs each and every nighttime. because it has change right into a fashion of existence problem, policing gained't stop what has change right into a social habit. mom and father won't be able to be blamed via this UN element 'rights of the infant' that makes their palms tied. toddlers can stop their mom and father from getting into their room to seek cabinets for drugs, pornography, condoms, BC pills and liquor because the UN feels that toddlers have an exact to privateness. As Australia is a signatory to this garbage, governments and infant establishments like medical medical doctors etc. are urged to finish those guidelines. The elevating the cost of low alcohol beverages like Cruiser etc. change right into a blantant threat for the authorities to make funds. This has left youthful drinkers an option to bypass for the more suitable stuff and hence we see further and further little ones change into below the impression of alcohol and violent. the authorities ought to percentage portion of the blame. guidance is merely portion of the answer. Our way of existence of an open and broadminded society enables youthful ones to objective with each and every of the vices of existence. some withold their soberness after the attempt to change into honourable voters and some change into addicted to change into rotten eggs and bypass on to tempt and drag the innocuous into their information superhighway. It change into merely contained in the coolest previous days the position the kinfolk ate jointly, prayed jointly and vacationing church on Sundays sure the kinfolk jointly via terror of the Lord and fogeys led with assistance from party. To even recommend the reapplication of this way of existence into the kinfolk ethos is unquestionably laughable in those 'cutting-edge' situations to maximum yet then it truly is the merely answer. mom and father ought to take can charge of their infant at an early age to practice the social and non secular virtues of existence. it isn't in any respect too late.
