If God used evolution, it musta happened pretty darn fast. death came through sin, so before man, nothing would have died, because it was man that sinned. your looking at a pretty large amount of animals an stuff if nothing died bfore man came about. and than the mass deaths years after the fall... wow, dont even want to thin about it. the missing links would really be every where in that case,,, anyway, thats not all. we were made in Gods image. where apes also made in /gods image? were fish also made in Gods image?

I am a Christian and i believe in a seven day creation, where each day is 24 hours. if God could make the universe, why couldnt he make man instantly like he made the physical matter appear?

Thos rock layers are all mixed up in al ot of places inthe earth, btw... and alot of the evdience for evolution is circumstantial at best.. and it would be arrogant to say we know all there is to know of what parts of the body hgave uses, and what dont.

If someone believes in theistic evolution they obviously don't believe the 6 days of creation story - therefore they probably don't believe that the fall of man was a real event (ie: the story is merely symbolic) and death in the universe is not the result of sin.

I'm not sure you understand evolution to be even discussing this. Your opinion is obviously biased and your scoffing at theistic evolutionary opinions shows that you really don't plan on taking it seriously anytime soon. I suggest you stop wasting people's time.

Although I doubt that anything could possibly change your mind there are some points that probably need clarifying.
If death only comes through sin how can animals die now since they are not capable of sinning?
If man is made literally in Gods image why are we not all the same?
What do you mean by missing link? As far as I am aware there is no real meaning to this term. Fossil evidence has not been found, nor could it possibly be found, of every model of creature which ever walked the earth. Every one was different.
The only evidence submitted is a particular interpretation of a single book which itself was created by man. If the facts do not agree with the book the facts must be wrong. A dangerous assumption when we know that the book was written by fallible men.
Your faith in God is commendable but your reliance upon a single contradictory document to support theories which are against observed reality is worrisome.

There is a mountain of evidence for evolution. Here is my list. There is more, I just tried to stick with the easy to understand ones.

* Fossils - the order can be determined by stratification alone (no radiological dating) it is unarguable and life started simple and got more complex. Here is a simple chart to show what I mean: http://pubs.usgs.gov/gip/fossils/succession.html
* Anatomical similarities between species.
* Chemical similarities between species.
* Mitochondrial DNA regressive studies. - This comes only from your mother and the only changes to it are through mutations. These mutations occur at a known rate, and converge world wide 150,000 years ago give or take. If Eve (6000 years ago) was the only female, it would be almost identical world wide. It is not. The flood gives a second bottleneck that matches the facts even less well.
* Geographic distribution of related species. Meaning related species are usually near each other.
* Wisdom Teeth - there isn't room on your jaw for them anymore.
* Your little toe - totally useless. Nice intellegent design here.
* Your appendix - totally useless now but it does digest cellulose in other species.
* Your inner eyelids - They don't even work now, but they do for lots of other animals like house cats. Bet you didn't even know you had 'em.
* Vestigial DNA - meaning chromosomes that we have but don't use, but that used in other species. We have several that other primates use but are totally useless to us.
* The fact that we share so much DNA among species
* There are no wild cows. They evolved through artificial selection and are totally man made.
* Different breeds of dogs, cats, livestock.
* Viruses and bacteria evolve quickly and you can actually see it. This is why you need a new flu shot every year.
* Your tail bone. It is even not that uncommon to be born with a tail.
* Goosebumps - this would be useful if we had fur because it fluffs it and make more insulation. For us it is worthless.
* The hair standing up on your neck when you are frightened. Animals use this to make themselves look bigger. Doesn't work when you walk upright and don't have fur.
* The fact that humans have gotten measurably and heritablely taller since the 1600s
* The fact that humans jaw have gotten measurably and heritablely smaller since the 1600s
* The fact that humans little toes have gotten measurably and heritablely smaller since the 1600s
* Human lower back problems. Your back is intelligently designed to have support from your shoulders.
* Transitional fossils - here is a list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_transitional_fossils

Even if God could, all the physical evidence says it didn't happen exactly as written in the Bible. How sad that you reject Creation itself. Those who believe the Bible more than reality sit around wondering why the driver's manual does start when you put the key in and turn it.

If you believe in the seven day creation, what is the point to your question. Are you questioning your faith?

I have accepted my decision to believe in evolution, but I live in a red state, where people have chosen not to educate themselves in any matter that would contradict religion and their belief in Christianity. It's not a debate worth arguing, since it's a personal choice. Instead, I ask religious people the same questions I asked myself that led me to believe in evolution.

You should question your belief and research what science is and has been telling you. At the end of your research, if you still believe in the Bible, then you're a true Christian. I was not, but I accept that.

Also, don't watch cable channels, like TLC, Discovery, History, etc. Because, everytime, they show a documentary about evolution of man, the next documentary gives you proof that the Bible is factual. Channels like these confuse the issue.

In the beginning, man was lonely - and hated the things he could sink down to, so he created a God in his image. As the god grew in complexity, he attempted to describe all the questions his peers would ask him about this god, and the world with a set of stories.

He could not explain the bones of these great creatures, which had existed, long before he had, so he invented dragons and monsters to justify them.

As his knowledge of the natural world grew, so he amended the story to fit the world he saw, and soon his stories became classic tales, that everybody accepted. And they told his story far and wide.

Problem was that the story was not unique, but one of hundreds of competing stories, all similar. So the followers of each 'theory' would defend it against the followers of other theories. To make his god greater than the other gods, he started to do things in more spectacular ways, like he created things in record time.

In the end, the followers became so blind to the world about them - that when science evolved - and a good theory to explain the world, they clung onto their old superstitions. Many ranting chapter and verse of the good book - rather than using their brains to accept or even judge the new material.

Theory even tried to develop sudo science to make the actual facts seem less important, anything to get back to the old beliefs, as they were starting to feel lonely again. They even tried to invent theories to describe dinosaurs, when they could no longer ignore them!

Maybe God wanted to take his time making everything, trying some things out along the way.

Just because something isn't in the Bible, doesn't mean it didn't happen or couldn't have happened.

No such thing as theisic evolution.....you are absolutely correct...it happpened FAST.

According to Scripture NOTHING evolved but everything was created "AFTER THEIR KIND"....

"From the beginning of the Creation God made them male and female..."-- Jesus (Mk. 10:6)

Scripture says God SPOKE all things into existence with His Word:
" By the Word of the Lord were the heavens created, and all the host by the breath of His mouth. For HE SPAKE AND IT WAS DONE; HE COMMANDED AND IT STOOD FAST". (psalm 33:9)

Even god has to obey the laws of nature, after all, didn't he make those laws? (if you believe)
