No...the Daytona 500 starts during the day and winds up ending at night. It takes it so long because it is one of the longest races of the season and since there are so many wrecks it takes a while to get everything situatued and straightened out.
I believe that the race at Daytona that your talking about is the Pepsi 400, now that race is at night!

No, it's an afternoon race. The only night races in Daytona are the Pepsi 400 in July and the Bud Shootout which is the Saturday night the week before the 500.

No it is not.The summer race at Daytona is at night though.I think it is called the Pepsi 500 now.
