What comes to mind when you think of nurses? Give me some words to describe what you think about nurses. Could you also tell me you gender and age? Also, if you are a nurse please don't answer because I am doing a project to see what people outside of the nursing profession think of nurses.

Besides the fact that some of them are kinda cute, I don't think that much about them. They have a lot to do being subservient to know-it-all egotist doctors and so forth. They're trained in conventional medicine which needs a complete overhaul from a drug dispensing machine to a healing machine. They're overworked and under appreciated. Beyond that, I don't have much of an opinion.

They wear white uniforms that are spotlessly clean. I think nurses can be nuturing and hold the patient's hand when they are in need. They spend a lot more time with the patient too. I also think of nurses that be pretty strict too, they take no crap. But basically I think of nurses are people who a lot and aren't paid enough for what they do. I am a female and am 26 years old. Good luck with your project:) I hope my answer doesn't sound stereotypical because I just wrote what comes to mind. I know not all nurses fit my description. I apologize if I offended any nurses.

They are indispensable and dedicated individuals who initiate the care of those who are sick and debilitated. Many of them have specializations which are very valuable to any medical practitioner, ambulance service of hospice and hospital.
Nurses have much more knowledge in essence than doctors.
They have to diagnose, consult , give medication know the side effects to look for in all the drugs they hand out. They have to understand the treatment and complications of the treatment and the emergency response when all goes wrong.

They often have to deal with cantankerous doctors patients and relatives, take abuse and remain professional throughout the conflict. They are often underpaid and undervalued.

My profession? I am a physician and I value all the nurses I have encountered and have yet to meet.

Nurses are awesome; I have a couple of medical conditions because of which I have had to be in and out of hospitals all my life, and the nurses were the ones who made it easier. Love and God's blessings to each and every one. I am a 37 y/o man

They are supposed to be kind and helpful but I am coming in contact more and more with nurses that couldn't care less and are just in it for the money!
