would you come back with these mean-spirited, judgemental christians running around? then again maybe he already has under the guise of an alcoholic, an anthropologist, a homosexual, an atheist, or for that matter just anybody who isn't christian. I imagine it just took him a day in church to realize we're not ready. maybe if some of these people would buy a sandwich for the local homeless guy instead of praying for him they may actually make a diiference. put down that book, open your eyes, get off your ***, and do something constructive. quit asking god to do everything and take some responsibility.

As for the answer given below mine, you may as well be quoting from "the shining". they were both written by man. they are also both works of fiction. now your argument may be that the bible does contain fact. well, so does "the exorcism of emily rose". though some of the events did occur, the sole purpose was entertainment and it still is a work of fiction. the same holds true for the bible. i understand that there are some good stories, but there are also some that are quite a bit questionable. Christians quote freely from the Bible to support their arguments but choose to omit certain verses that may not show God in his best light.

Deuteronomy 6:14-15 Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are around you; (for the LORD thy God is a jealous God among you;) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.
Translation: God will have anyone who worships another deity put to death. (good guy?)

Exodus 21:7 And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as
the menservants do.
Translation: okay to sell your daughter into slavery

Exodus 35:2 Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you a holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death.
Translation: self-explanatory

Corinthians 11:14 Doth not even nature itself teach you that if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him.
Question: Should Jesus see a barber?

If you believe it’s your god and your god is infallible, you can’t throw out some of the rules just because you don’t like them.

...Wait and see; I urge you to humble yourself and trust in Christ while God still affords you time. Observe these verses from 2 Peter 3:
...3 To begin with, you must know and understand this, that scoffers (mockers) will come in the last days with scoffing, [people who] walk after their own fleshly desires
...4 And say, Where is the promise of His coming? For since the forefathers fell asleep, all things have continued exactly as they did from the beginning of creation.
...5 For they willfully overlook and forget this [fact], that the heavens [came into] existence long ago by the word of God, and the earth also which was formed out of water and by means of water,
...6 Through which the world that then [existed] was deluged with water and perished.
************************************************************
...9 The Lord does not delay and is not tardy or slow about what He promises, according to some people's conception of slowness, but He is long-suffering (extraordinarily patient) toward you, not desiring that any should perish, but that all should turn to repentance.
..10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will vanish (pass away) with a thunderous crash, and the [[a]material] elements [of the universe] will be dissolved with fire, and the earth and the works that are upon it will be burned up.
************************************************************
...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved.
(Acts 16:31)
...Whosoever will, may come.

That's scary.

But I don't think an Amber Alert is necessary.

Jesus will be back. He is waiting for a few more souls to be saved. Are you one of them?

Well after 2000 years of being gone, I think it's safe to say he's long gone.

People have been saying he'll be back "soon" since he died. Be patient he'll get here. Will you be ready when he does get here?
