Soda pop, whether diet or regular, is bad for your teeth. I spoke once with an oral surgeon who told me that it is best to drink it with a straw, and drink water right after to wash your teeth. It is an acid bath on your teeth with each sip. Take care.

Every soda is bad for your teeth. Diet soda is probably worse though considering it has more chemicals in it. It's not good for your body either btw. But anyway, just make sure to brush your teeth often. If you leave the sugar on them from the diet soda, there's little tiny microscopic bug-things in your mouth that feed off of it and leave their waste behind [on your teeth]. Then the waste rots your teeth and that's how cavities come about. So just brush a lot lol.

Well the worst part of soda is generally the sugar content. Since you are not consuming the sugar or loading up on calories or carbs I would have to say the only thing you need to worry about is the potential staining affect it can have on your teeth. There are no conclusive studies to show that the artificial sweetener really causes cancer in people...
I am now drinking diet soda. The regular soda really wreaked havoc on my teeth, lost tooth enamel and my poor husband has loads of cavities....

Diet sodas are worse than any others,
They produce a chemical that is close to the chemical used in storing organs and even animals in jars, cant thin of it right now but i think its like philmoglihaid?? something liek that.
Also diet soda creates cronic head aches, i see people rubbing their foreheads all the time that drink a lot of it!!
Now that cant be healthy either.
I drink green tea, hot and cold, add lemon and honey, even some soy milk, lots of water, and to settle my stomach and to burb i drink reg 7up sometimes. I also drink Juices without added sugars.
Ido more research on this diet thing, i know a bulletin was sent out to Doctors about this chemical in diet sodas.

It's quite bad for your teeth. Even though it has no sugar, the chemicals and carbonation in soda drain your body of nutrients like calcium, the major component of teeth. Also, soda dehydrates the body, causing bloating and malnutrition. Try weaning yourself off soda gradually by limiting your daily intake a little more each day, and replacing soda with still or sparkling water, fruit juice, or milk.

CINDY,
IT HAPPENS THAT DIET IS JUST AS BAD AS REGULAR SODA BECAUSE THE PHOSPHORIC ACID FOUND IN BOTH RUINS THE ENAMEL OF THE TEETH. THIS IS A WELL-KNOWN EFFECT. IF YOU MUST DRINK SODA TRY DIET 7-UP. CONSIDER SOME JUICES OR WATER TO SUB FOR SODA.

It's the acid in soda that eats away at your teeth. The best thing you can do, if you can't stop or limit your consumption, is to brush your teeth often.

Soda in general erodes the enamel on your teeth which leads to rapid decay of your teeth it also can lead to weakening of bones. If you are addicted slowly stop so that you have some teeth when you are older.
