How many of you have willingly read anything that opposes your beliefs? If not, how can you call yourself 'informed' and 'educated' and how can you claim that you are a believer of your own free will when you know nothing else?

So your saying that jesus and the bible authors lied? hardly Its possible that the stories are true..is there a god? well tell me this there either is or is not a god you or I dont not dicate this...so what beef do you have with the moral government that the church offers. imagine this, earth with out morality, morality that the church has provided for thousand of years...so it boils down to this, the bible stories are not so far fetched as to be unrealistic..what given alien stories they seem quite believeable...since there are many possible explainations. so the question really is is there a god? again you or I only decice to believe or not to believe. the reality is that if there is there is, and if there isnt then there isnt...simple as that...the churches just try to maintain the peoples morality and dignity throught moralistic recounts of the past travails of the authors..again was a man named jesus curcified? well likely yes at that time it was common, for our sins?, well thats subjective after all he was saying he would stop the need to punish everyone if the powers that be would only kill him and then spare others like him...so he said this..any way thank "god" churchs send the moralistic message..otherwise where would we be now?

I am not familiar with his writings but I was not a CHristian for quite a good bit of my life and I read a number of anti-Christian writings. I have an extensive knowledge of Christian and non-Christian writings. My wife and I decided to become Christians after our studies brought us to this belief in His Son's Divine Authority on Earth. GOD sent HIM to give us the opportunity to be in Heaven with HIM. We are both very glad that we made this choice and our children are grown and Christians now as well. I have a Master's Degree and did extensive readings at that time that were also contrary to my religious beliefs. These, in no way caused me to doubt my religious decision. I hope that this did not discourage you in any way. Have a great day and a wonderful week!

I read it. I thought is was kind of crap, because Dawkins is quite under-informed regarding the three main ontological arguments in favor of the presense of a God. How can you call yourself 'informed' and 'educated' if you haven't read 'The Miracle of Theism' by JL Mackie? Mackie, by the way, is an atheist, but he is well-informed and takes an unbiased, scholarly view of the issue at hand, unlike Dawkins. Have you ever tried to challenge your own belief system? You are an atheist reading books about atheism, and so you are falling into your own trap. Please read "Mere Christianity" by CS Lewis. It is short, and you will at least be able to attack religious people more effectively after you've read it.

I've not read that book, but I've studied both sides of the issue quite a bit. I wanted to look at the question of "is there a God" from every angle. I've heard the best arguments from both sides and have come to a several conclusions......There is a God, in fact it takes more "faith" to beleive there is no God. More harm has been done in the name of "religion" than anything.....and, the only way to God is through faith in Jesus. By the way, don't judge Jesus by the actions on some of his "believers". Research the Bible for yourself and see if you can find fault with what Jesus teaches. Dont' rely on only one source either.....read from all the major thinkers on both sides. Just my opinion, but keep in mind, if you look for God earnestly, you will find Him.

I just don't understand you people! why do you assume that because I believe in God that I have no education, that I must be some weak fool who is mislead and not smart enough to think?

Will you have enough respect for other people to assume they have education and have thought this through. Just because they don't agree with you, doesn't make them idiots without education!

I am an educated person. My circle of friends are educated people and you are obviously the one who is mislead, because someone has you thinking that people who do not subscribe to the THEORY of evolution, are stupid uneducated fools.

STOP THE NONSENSE, ask with respect and stop assuming you understand everyone and everything.

At one element, you ought to examine the first financial ruin on Dawkins' information superhighway web site, notwithstanding the web page would not look operating at recent. As for something else of the e book, in case you want it legally, you would ought to purchase it.

I grew up opposed to what I believe now. You see, we don't all fit into your little box. The idea that if we don't read your little book we remain uniformed.

Richard Dawkins doesn't scare me and neither does Paul Doherty. What I get is bored when I read them. Kind of like L. Ron Hubbard's Dianetics bores me.

I have been to many Athiest sites that think that they are so intelligent, and then they pick a word out of the Bible like, 'Unicorns', and totally prove their lack of scholarship.

So . . . *yawn* I guess anyone can believe what they want. I'll side with Jesus Christ. So take what you get, I'll keep what I got.

The tone of the book is strident, the content of the book is bracing, and the attitude of the book is condescending.

Reading this crap makes me informed and educated on what? You can't be serious... can you?

By your question it is clear that you are not clear on the definitions of the words "informed" and "educated" which you espouse, and believing which we "Believers" as you call us, do. Once you truly understand the word "believe", you will see why we don't need to be "educated" and "informed" as you promote. Until then, you will be just uneducated and uninformed. God Bless you.

I've never heard of that author and I've never heard of that book before. Try watching Bruce Almighty it will give you the real answer about free will in that movie.
