Our grocery store only had very hard avacados, but I bought two anyway. Is there any way to get them to ripen faster? Leaving them in the sun or out of the fridge?

You definitely do not want to put them in the fridge.

The best way is to put them in a paper bag in a dark place (like in the pantry or under the sink). That works every time!

To make an avocado ripen, I suggest placing it in a paper bag and let it sit in the bag over night. By the next day or 2, it will definitley be ripe.

if you place the avocado in a paper bag with a banana also inside it will ripen within 2 days or so.

Put them in a brown paper bag and set them on the counter. do not refrigerate them. I'm not sure how long it will take to ripen them, but it works.
