You're always in contact with the spirits. You kneel before a Porcelain God. Yea, it sounds religious to me. The day after drinking is Hell.

My dad was an alcoholic and drank religiously. When we cremated him, his body took a day to burn but his liver took four days.

Let's see ...

It involves believing something is good for you when in fact it is screwing up your life.

It creates brief high points but even more low points.

There's a great deal of paraphernalia and ritual associated with it.

Try to put an end to it and you are met with hostile resistance.

You can waste a lot of time and money.

Yep, I'd have to say it's a religion alrighty!

You can make a religion out of Donald Duck if you choose to, so I suppose you could make a religion out of a bottle of Jack Daniels if you wanted to. Being religious about it would be based on your attitude about your religion.

Alcoholism is a sickness. Not a religion. sounds like that person dosent really care in religion. rather that person sounds like they live in a fantasy world.
