If she's sporty, ask her if she wants to go wall climbing, kart racing or ice skating...
If she's into food, then ask her if she can accompany you to check out some restaurants and cafes you can dine in...

Don't ask to go out with the girl. Instead, engage her in conversation, hopefully on a topic of genuine interest to her. If you can build up to it, you might even get HER to ask YOU out that way.
Most girls don't like an overly aggressive guy. That tends to come across as being desperate, and I'm told that girls can smell desperation from a mile away, and they don't like the scent it leaves behind. Be cool, play it cool and genuine (but not desperate), and you should have a much better chance of getting a positive answer asking the girl out.
Even better than asking her out, though, make her want to ask you out. Thats a lot easier said than done, but it can be far more successful.

Find a way to be with her without dating. Try to get a conversation going and see if she is responding in a flirty way. Pay attention to any signs of boredom and really listen for cues if she is interested. Eventually, you will have to risk a little.
Rejection is only rejection if you take it seriously. If a girl says no just smile and and say something like, well if you change your mind let me know. Then move on knowing that most people aren't meant for each other so you'll have to try a few out before you find someone who is for you.

I have seen some of the answers here. You don't seem like a child so I think the best way to ask this person out is to ask them if they like a particular type of food. Then suggest meeting for lunch at a restaurant that serves their favorite food.
Avoid having your first "date" be at a movie or some other anti-social venue. I hope that this helps.

I already sent this to somebody else, but it applies. Be cute and...It depends on the girl. I recommend doing something cute, but try not to be to stereotypical. Do something to show you care and something you know the girl will "aww" about. Flowers over chocolate any day. You could ask her on Valentine's Day; maybe send her a secret admirer note, a kiddy valentine's day card, flowers, etc. I know Valentine's Day sounds corny, so if you think it's too lame. You could do it the day before or after, if you want to let her sweat it out for awhile. Just be sweet and cute. Girls want guys to make the first move. Good luck.

You shouldn't ASK a girl out, you should just say something like-"Hey, we should go out sometime, bowling, movie, whatever, what are you doing this weekend?" (always have a plan though!!) if she says no, then don't worry 'bout it, continue a possible friendship-if nothing happens a little later on, then move on to the next one. Good luck!

from personal experience this leads immediately to third base. Also, wear lucky jeans because that was a part of the third base thing...oh, and after the hookup, add something like "we should chill more often."
oh and whatever you do, don't do it over the phone or internet, that's such bullshit and not at all romantic or personal. no panties will get wet from longdistance asking-outs

find out what kind of music she's into. then say, somthing like "i wanna go to this concert but i can't find anyone to go" or, "i have an extra ticket, u wanna come?" just make sure you can really get the tickets if she takes you up on the offer. then while you guys are out, make it special so she can see you're into her. don't be too romantic/mushy though, that can be a turn off.

a round about way of asking someone out would be to say something like "hey, do you want to go grab a pizza or a cup of coffee sometime?" and when she says "sure", then you say "well, how about friday night? i'll pick you up at 8:00."
