look for redness, swelling, and eyes that get crusted or have a slimey discharge. watch her carefully because conjunctivitis is a common occurence in cats and is highly contagious, not only to other pets but to you also

I have two Himalayans. My cats are known as 'dollface' -- meaning their noses aren't so flat and pushed in. If your kitten has a very pushed in or flat nose it's eye sockets are naturally misshapen (as breeders breed like this now). This practice is frowned upon but seems to be increasing. However, that said, your kitten will have watery, runny eyes due to this condition of it having a flat face. Sad but true. My cats have little issues breathing or with watery eyes because I purposely looked for a breeder that did not breed them with flat faces.

My cats obviously had some ancestors with flat faces (it is clear) but other than my male having a little whistling sound on occasion when playing hard, they seem to have good clear eyes and breathing.

I would make certain you keep the eyes clear of crust, and GENTLY take a warm washcloth and wipe the eye area in a downward fashion. I would take my pet to the Vet and make sure anyway, perhaps your vet will have some suggestions for you. Good luck with your Himalayan, they are loving, sweet and gorgeous cats!

This kitty change into weened from her mom at an rather early age. It appears like the watery eyes are via URI. even as i change right into a baby, we offered a kitten at round that age that had a URI. She gave it to the older cats and we merely about lost truly one of them because of it. shop the antibiotic going until eventually it truly is lengthy gone. in case you sense that the watery eyes are unusually undesirable, bypass see the vet. in the different case, the watery eyes might want to get more effective interior of time. it truly is portion of the URI.

if you look at her eyes they should be white, not red. flat faced cats do tear more, but you need to make sure they she doesnt have hair in her eyes.
the vet can take a good look and see if she has entropion, if so they can act on that
if its an infection dont waste time, they have sensitive eyes to begin with so get her checked out
