I work in customer service for an insurance company. We are pretty much there to assist agents when they are not available. I notice, however, agents always call us to do their work, customers complain because their agents never help them or never in the office, they never answer their phones. If I call an agent to do something that I am not able to do, they tell me to do it anyways. What do they do? My friend works for an agent that always has her tell people he is not there when customers call in. From my opinion, agents are lazy. What exactly do they do other than sell you more insurance, profit from it and go on trips. They are rude, never assist you. Please if you know an agent or are an agent and can tell me what exactly you do to earn your money, let me know so I can have a better outlook on agents. Thank you.

I have wondered the same thing. I have had a couple of insurance companies where my agent is never there. I have had some very serious questions and concerns. I have left several messages for my agent. He never returns my calls. As in the response to Rob, you have just proved what an insurance agent really is, an immature, lazy person who only cares about money. Honey, agents really do not do anything. The only thing they do when they finally get a hold of you is try to sell you more insurance to generate themselves more revenue. They do not care about the people.

I have to second Galactose's response.

When I read the opening question, I was ready to provide a helpful answer, which is precisely what I do for my clients; give helpful answers and offer life-changing solutions.

But as I read further, I realized that this was nothing more than a childish rant. In a nutshell, agents are the ones who generate the revenue for insurance companies, giving you the ability to finance your pathetic little life.

No need to get mushy...a simple "thank you" will do. Have a nice day.

Gosh, how's your outlook now?
