Well it's cheap but i currently found a 9 ft South Bend rod and put my Shimano spinning reel on it. I never used a South Bend but i'll tell you what, for a cheap noodle rod this thing is awesome and i dont have to worry so much about it while fishing like i do with my Fenwick. It was only $20 at Wally World. I use it for drifting bait for walleye and muskies and it works great. A good rig for people that can't afford the St. Croix or Fenwicks. I still love my 8.25 ft Fenwick the best though.

Well, when bottom fishing for jacks in the 10-20 lb range, I use either a 7 ft Shakespeare Ugly Stick or 7 ft Penn Power Stick coupled with a Penn SS 5500 with spooled 12 pound test.

I mostly use an Abu Garcia PowerTouch combo with a PT300R reel and 6'6" medium heavy rod. My other favorite is my Shakespeare Pro-Am combo with 350 K reel and SP 2056 light 5'6" rod.

St. Croix is my favorite. I have a 7' Legend UL, a 7' Premier ML,
and a 9.5' Avid ML. I use Abu Garcia Cardinal Pro Max reels to
match,and recently bought a Cardinal C3 re-make. I use
European float systems on all three outfits. The 9.5' Avid is a
great float rod.

For steelhead it's a 8'6"ml Kunnan Competitor with a Shimano Stradic. For bass I use a 6'6"m Bass Pro Extreme XPS with a Shimano Stradic. For trout, a 5'ul Shimano with a Stradic. Yep, I like Stradics. I wish they still made Kunnan rods too. One of the best I've ever used.
