why is a camel spin called a camel spin?
me and my cousin's theory is, because your leg and back are the camel's body, and your butt and head are the humps. lol

I read in Michelle Kwan's autobiograghpy that camel spins are called that cuz beginners look like they have a hump, becuase there back and leg are not hip level, so it looks like you have a hump, if you know what i mean, i think mine looks like that!! :-(!

Hey I've always wondered that too, I found this on wikipedia:
"According to figure skating coach Gustave Lussi, the camel spin was invented not by Colledge but by an Australian skater named Campbell, and is properly known as the Campbell spin", which could explain the name, but I don't know.

That's pretty funny though. Now that I think about it, that's kinda what it does look like
