i have a cantilever brakes on my mountain bike. something like a v type. when my front brakes are pushed it all the way and my pads do not touch the rim they barely even move. what do i do?

i suggest if you are a serious rider then maybe taking it into a shop and not asking a dump of a place like this and get some real help before you go out thinking your find and the falling off a cliff and dying because you re brake dosent work because some person on here said its fine
