1- We don't all deny all beliefs, some are interesting and we are open to any evidence should it present it's self. 2- We do not *believe there are no deities, we refute that there is any evidence for them at all, so think them no more likely than the existance of a gnome homeworld on the other side of the sun, not the same as a possitve beliefe in the non-existance of something, which would make no sense anyway. 3- Although I would hope that all intellegent people are capeable of learning from others, many of us also have our own idea's about things too:) 4- Well, in the long run, one day, when it comes to pass that people realise for themselves and don't need it anymore, yes:) 5- Evolution is a work in progress, more and more evidence supporting it, and adding to it, and throwing up new questions, is found all the time, but because science, unlike most religion, is a search for truth and understanding of this wonderful world and universe we are lucky enough to be part of, it is always subject to change if that's what the evidence points to:) 6- Like, everyone else, we have a right to defend our point of view, that makes it a point of view, not a faith. 7- There have been many very evil people in the world, some may have been Atheists, some from many other religions, encluding ones that don't exist anymore, others have been popes,(how do you explain that one when popes are supposed to be infallible?) that's because religion doesn't have any effect on evil-doing, one way or the other, there is only one known creature capeable of evil, that is humans, animals merely do what they are supposed and desighned to do, but humans have a great level of self-awarness and education, and know exactly what they are doing. 8- There is nothing to study, it is a lack of faith, full stop. 9- That's the same as number 6. 10We don't bow down to any God, there are none. There do seem to be some fundies who call themselves Atheists, but I think they are just very angrey people, maybe angrey at religion for what it has put them through, or others through, or angry at themselves that they were ever cought up in it, they are often not clear thinkers, and have not detached themselves from their hangups to do with religion, and some do just enjoy a good argument:)

I believe atheist should have a right to share their beliefs, just like Christians and everyone. I do not however understand why they would bother, since they don't believe in such a thing. Would it makes sense for someone to spend lots of time, in a subject that they don't believe exist. That would be like Christians spending a coupld hours a day talking about the Flying Spagetti Monster.
Being an athesit is a religion and a belief system. Actually to be an atheist it requires the most amount of faith, because there is no evidence supporting it. Evolution is the God of the Atheist, and we all know what they claim to believe. The reason I believe Atheist flock to this site, is because they are trying to get more evidence that support their beliefs from other Atheist, and to make them feel better about themselves. They obviously are not interested in God, so they are doing all they can to deny him. They always love to say, how could God exist forever, and therefore they embrace Atheism as a means for living however they want. Although what they don't understand is that God has to exist forever, because if he didn't then life would have never started. Because the universe cannot go back an infinetly long period of time, therefore something outside of time with a will, had to start it.

Atheism is a non-belief. They don't believe in any God only their own self or science or nature. The laws of science and nature are man made laws and God defies those laws, they can't comprehend God. They come here because they can, some just want to antagonize, bully and browbeat. Some think they are seriously trying to help because they think you are either stupid or delusional, they are not aware that they are the ones that are lost. Some are full of the devil and well you know what that means. They have a right to come here just like anyone else. I myself consider it a form of spiritual warfare, fight the good fight.

Atheism - lack of belief in a god or gods.
It's simply not believing in a god. It's not a belief. Not a religion. Atheists don't worship anyone.
I'm not good in math, but I could go to a math section. Atheists can go to a religion section. It's a free world.
Atheists don't look for salvation.
Atheists DO NOT believe in a devill. We don't believe in the supernatural.
*Edit* You're 32 years old and believe in misconceptions about atheists? Grow up. We aren't immoral, devil worshipping people. And we don't believe WE are gods. Just that there is no god. And for good reason too - there is NO evidence that points to a god. NONE. AT. ALL. How can you be so angry at people who are simply living life intelligently?

Being an atheist is not a religion or a belief. It is someone without a religion. And without a belief that depends on non-existent proof and logical fallacies. An atheist does not believe in a devil either, we refer to all of these things, along with all of the other religions' super-heroes as made up, or not real. It is not all void and darkness to us either. Most of us value life more than others, simply because we know that this is our only life. That is why there is a smaller percentage of us in prisons, and we generally have a higher education. It's purpose is to get people to be more logical, rational, and scientific, in answering all of the problems we have in life without the belief in magic. Our 'business" in here is to discuss the problems that religion causes in the world, thus the topic, "Religions and Spirituality".

This Forum is not just for believers - its for anyone who wants to discuss Religion and Spirituality.
Atheism is essentially the disbelief in God, so I guess you could say it's the 'Belief in the non-existence of God.' Atheists do not have any set rules or goals to live by and therefore it is not a religion.
Not being a religion, atheists are free to believe in whatever they want so long as it is not God, because then they would no longer be atheist. Some believe in Satan, some believe in nothing except the physical world, some believe in life after death but choose to accept that we don't know what happens after we die.

Nope. Atheism is the uncola...lighter, more refreshing and fewer calories. Don't knock it 'til you tried it. Its really for people who want to clearly see.
To religious people, atheists seem like children of the dark and maybe that is true but you religious people think you can see so much better in the light...in the day time.
Consider this if you should decide to try a walk on the "dark side"...you can see much further at night...the stars are billions of miles a way and in the day time you can only see a few hundred miles. You think you are seeing all there is but there is more...much more!
To those of us who won't let the brilliance of the sun interfer with our seeing things clearly, you seem very short sighted. Most atheists have tried religions of all kinds and read spiritual literature until we can almost puke at the silliness of it all but you have never tried anything from our position...are you afraid?
WOW! The magificence of the night! No sun to limit your vision. There is daylight but WOW! Time and space and science...its amazing. You should try it...step away from blind faith for just a moment and see that knowledge and understanding is wonderful. Life is truly a joy for those who are not afraid.
To atheists, religious people seem insane...talking to imaginary friends who may suddenly turn against you and punish you harshly for not conversing with it everyday. How insane is that? The mental institution is full of it...mental institutions and churches! One person believes in invisable people and has conversations with them and its called insanity...many people believe in the invisable people and that the "voices" talk to them and they can talk back and its called religion.
I don't care if a million people believe in that, its still insanity to me. Devil?...there is no devil! No one is going to save me and no one is going to destroy me either. I'm not ego centric enough to believe that even if there were a super consciousness, the consciousness would even notice I existed much less care what I do.
Do you care about the ants in an ant hill? Do you care about each one and want to save some and destroy others? You know, those ants think you're god! And they might be trying to talk to you and there you go putting poisen on their homes anyway.
If you want to feel loved and cared for by something infinite, love and care for yourself...why can't people just do that???
I'm on this discussion of religion because I want people to see a billion miles away and see what I see but everyone is to paranoid of the night. There is nothing evil about darkness and night time so get over your fear and confusion already.

Atheism is not a religion; it is the awareness that all religions are silly. We are no defending a faith, but simply trying to help poor fools who are blindfolded to open thine eyes, and have some fun at the same time, for it is wonderful to behold fools running around in circles....
And we do have business here, to defend science, which many religious idiots will try to pull into lame theological debate. I have also read a few bibles, Torahs and Korans, I used to repair them, and so enjoy discussion on a subject I seem to be more informed about than the 'righteous' here.
I simply believe in one less god than you do, so if you can justify the reasons you do not believe in another god, then it should be simple to see why I do not believe in your god.
As for the reason I post on this site, - when religion stops interfering in politics and education, I will stop posting here, deal!

Neither. It is not a religion, it is not a belief. It is the absence of both. Non-belief is just as valid as belief here. This forum is not just for believers, it is for MATTERS PERTAINING TO RELIGION AND SPIRITUALITY, and atheism pertains to those topics.
It is not all void and darkness, and I am NOT looking for "salvation" - what have you been saved from...death? Hell? Grow up. I don't serve the devil, I don't believe that the devil or God exists. How do I "believe in" myself? What a ridiculous question. I think, therefore I am. It does not require belief to reach that conclusion. The same cannot be said of your god.
And your "humble opinion" doesn't matter to me one bit. It's not for you to say who should post here and who shouldn't. If you don't believe that atheism is relevant to religion, then you're the one who doesn't get it.
I think you're upset because you Christians are used to controlling everything and everyone around you...you and your Christian cohorts, and you are neither in the habit of nor good at defending the absurdity that is your "faith".
Well, we're here, my dear. Get used to it!

I for one am glad that Atheist are hear. What if some one said something that maybe made them think.. or change there minds....
Why so fast to say that they don't have the wright to be hear....
I am a Jehovah's Witness and I have learned allot about them (Atheist)... I have seen how mean some people are to them..."then 'people' wonder why they don't believe" If we all could follow Jesus example a little better we would try and help all people.. Not try and shove them out...
