My boyfriend does not want me to come with him and his family to celbrate his birthday but he says that if I want to do something for him to do it on the weekend. I have spent time with his whole family before and the holidays too. Why would he not invite me to share in his birthday?....(dating almost a year)

Because he is bringing another girl, I've done it several times...not that I am proud of it now.

Never allow yourself to be disrespected and put on a back burner. It may be his family - they don't like you or he has told them a lie like, we're not together anymore or he doesn't feel you fit in someway. DROP HIM BABE - I'm serious. Build your innerself up RIGHT NOW to kick him to the curb. You better do it girl because a woman is supposed to be put on a pedestal (I'm talking Bible here, people always want to talk about women and obeying in the Bible but nobody ever talks about the part where the man is supposed to love her more than himself - yes it says that) and this type of man will always put you behind what he deems is important and place you second. If you allow him to do that to you and he sees that you'll allow it, you'll find yourself saying yes to things that you would otherwise not say yes to. Whatever good foundation has been laid in your life will be broken up because you're placing that no good, sad sap of meat flesh to dictate how, what, when and where. I'm an over 40 yr old woman and if you were my daughter I'd be HOT!!!. Please, talk to yourself, surround yourself with girlfriends who will be your support, get some chocolate and get him a kind/pleasant good bye gift and tell him Sayonara. YOU DESERVE BETTER!!!

I honestly think that it's just his family. They might have told him that they would prefer to have some private celebration with him.
It's understandable.
But I think he's stuck in the middle now, you know?
He does want to spend time with you, and maybe it would be better in the end if it were just you two together? Heaven alone knows, I would love to have more private time with my boyfriend.
Tell him it's fine, and just make time later. Don't be worried, this happens to girls all the time.

don't worry about it too much, i mean he might just want to spend it alone with his family. If you go with him on holidays, then he may feel he HAS to do something with his family. Don't worry too much. i mean even if he is doing something, cause i figure thats why you are writing, then why are you even with this dude, trust is a huge thing in a relationship. If you dont trust him then you aren't supposed to be with him. But ask him why you can't go with.

Sweetheart, if your boyfriend doesn't want you there, then something is wrong, that is a red flag!!! Either he has someone new, or he just doesn't want to be around you!! Or it could even be his family that doesn't want you around!!! Do you get along great with everyone?? Do you ever feel like you just can't connect with someone??? In all honesty I think it's your bf!!

Who knows. Ask him. If he gives you an honest answer respect that and don't go. I know with my parents they are very judmental and they don't seem to like anyone. I feel a couple things could be going on; he wants to avoid family drama, or he wants to avoid you? All you can do is ask and talk. GL

Im sorry hunn but its a guy's way of saying he doesnt want tu to come because he wants it over. he wants ya no more. u should break his heart than the other way around. u'll move on and u'll find someone betta. he's not worth it. if he has a car, do what carrie underwood did in her latest video. it will practically make him cry!

Maybe he's embarrassed by his family....it's not necessarily because of you. He might know it's going to suck and he doesn't want you to be bored out of your mind, like when you invite him to every little thing your family does.

evadiva i think your boyfriend is just plain cheating on you because u know what i think i think he told his parents he broke up with u and he showed the other girl that he is cheating u on and if his parents see u they may punish him right you get what i mean u have to find out whats going on but secretly then when u know the truth and have prove then u can talk and get justice ok good luck

Ask him to be honest about the reason why he does not want you there. If it is a good enough reason (no reason is) you have to decide if you wish to be treated in that manner by someone who claims to love you.
